Little leak=PITA.

I dewinterized and while filling the water tank water started coming out the body.
Uggg.
Found a dripping connector behind the water valve panel. I can barely get a hand in there but managed to tighten it a little...still dripping.
Some body contortions and I got some pliers on it...still dripping
Removed some pieces and got Teflon tape on it and a good tighten with the pliers...still dripping, slower.

Now look where I had to go. Nothing left to do but replace the connector and the threaded elbow it attached to and re-pex.
What a pain. I think this valving system stinks.

I like it much better that the old way. Once you get the leak repaired it will likely never leak again!

I would like to know why it all of a sudden started... If it had something to do with freezing, then how is one suppose to get the water out the whole valving system?
I filled with antifreeze set on "winterize". I guess I'm going to have to blow with air next time and open all the valve configurations, including the bypass and tank fill to make sure no water is sitting in the plastic valve parts. Can't really do that with antifreeze without the pink stuff going where you don't want it to go.

Agreed on the wiring and plumbing stinking. I mean really it takes so little time to just go that extra inch and do it right vs this throwing it together.
Not paying claims and having a product that shines behind the covers would equal even more profit not less.
They have such a good product this is all really trivial stuff at build time. This is what has me shaking my head why the short-sidedness when they are so close to getting it all right.

Little dab of Vaseline on the mating surface of connector. Works 99% of the time.

Was in that same area myself yesterday fixing a kink in one of the water lines. Line was cut about 2" too short, so they simply kinked it to make it fit.

I also just found a dripping connector, what a pain to get to. Removed the panel like u did and managed 1/4 turn and no more drip at least for now.
