Looking to Transport 5th Wheel: Chicago-Brownsville, TX

We had our Jayco Eagle 5th wheel brought to Illinois from South TX last March and decided to sell it. We now have a buyer who wants it in Brownsville, TX and the shipper we used previously wants to charge us almost double what we paid him last March. Says the increase is due to increased fuel costs. I've Googled 'transporters' and most seem to be in South FL which means they'd have to come to IL to pick it up, then to South TX for delivery, then back to FL. I'm getting prices from $2200 - $2800.
Any suggestions?

Why don't you see if buyer will come pick it up or you meet half way??

The buyer is in MN, I'm in IL and neither of us have a truck w/5th wheel hitch. He has a lot in Brownsville, TX and wants it delivered there.

Call a local rv dealer & find out who delivers. Or call a " hot shot " delivery company..

Go to your local truck stop and talk to the truckers that come in to eat someone will do it or know someone that will. Keep in mind its 1500 miles just fuel is 225 gallons. 22 hours of driving $2200 to $2800 is cheap.

Horizon Transport in Indiana will do an online quote. I used them a few years ago to deliver a toyhauler after I sold my truck.

I personally wouldn't want a semi hauling it. It would probably be "bounced" down the road at high speeds.

I agree this is cheap. It's a long drive and I don't think pulling a rv can be done in 22 hours, more like 30 to 36 of driving.

Thanks everyone for your great replies! Unfortunately the buyer called off the sale. I have a beautiful 2016 Jayco Eagle 5th wheel 321RSTS back on the market if anyone knows of someone looking for a great 5th wheel. DW just is too uncomfortable with a large 5th wheel in tow

I used Uship.com to get bids on transporting our trailer from Washington state to TX last year. We were very pleased with the job.

You are a nicer person than most. When I'm selling the buyer buys the item and if they want it at the north pole the legwork and the cost is on them. What if you shipped it and then they bailed?
