Manual roller shades

Hello,
I have a 2022 Jayco North Point 32RLTS and little by little the blinds are not working. Now I have 3 that don’t work. They don’t stay down or the don’t go up. I have to adjust them all the way down if I want them to stay down. One feels like gears are broken. Can I get parts and repair them or should I get different brand shades?
TYIA.

Remove the valance then remove the shade from the brackets attached to the valance, recoil it and re-install. That is what I did with help of a mobile rv tech at my cost when one of my shades would not go up. If you are still covered under warranty, make a warranty claim and have dealer, mobile or local shop repair or replace it. Alternatively, contact Jayco customer service with your VIN and ask for the blind manufacturer and part number then contact the manufacturer and/or ask Jayco for a shade roller replacement.

I have replaced 2 of mine and have a third one I have not installed yet. The quality does not appear to be the best on these things.
Camp CA- would you expand on the "recoil" of the blind? I would sure like to repair rather than replace

It was a year and a half ago so do not recall. One I did myself and the other a mobile rv tech did. Next time it happens will post what I did.

I have several not working, along with a broken pendant light...great quality...right?

You can reach up to the end and turn the knob so the tension comes off and it will stay down.

Got tired of fixing mine all the time, not to mention that when down there is no air coming in from open windows, so we just replaced ours with 1" vinyl cordless mini blinds. We can close them for privacy and still let the breeze come in. Had to get 5 different custom sizes, so we ordered them online. There are a number of places selling them, just do a quick search.

Since I posted I now have 4 that do not work. I contacted the manufacturer (ISD) and ordered parts for 2 of them. Waiting for parts to arrive. I know they will keep failing so I am looking into other options. I will keep you updated. Thanks for the responses.

I spoke with the company. They asked me what they were doing and they decided what parts I need. They sent me a YouTube link video on how to replace the parts. I am still waiting for parts to arrive.

Yes, RV Blind Co.

I don’t know if I have a lemon or is this how things are made now. I bought a new Jayco thinking they were a quality co. since they been around a long time. I have never been so dissatisfied with a purchase in my life. It’s not even 4 years old and I have had repairs on all 3 slides, the fireplace, stereo, node, tablet, and awning motor have all been replaced. Now the shades are breaking 1 by 1 and the smart tv is not working. What’s next? Can’t wait! Some people tell me it’s because it was built during Covid. I don’t know what it is but in my opinion never buy a new Jayco.

I had a 2000 Sunny Brook TT and the only issue I had in 9 years of ownership was a bad thermostat and water pump. I did the required maintenance and towed it over 20K miles. It was 34 ft had one 13k a/c ducted in ceiling and on a 100 dgree day in Florida it cooled so you can hang meat and in the winter in Kansas we would camp and other then using 4 tanks of Lp in 1 week at below 20 degrees I had zero issues. Fast forward to 2023 and I really don't see any improvenments. I do see more than I should of issues.

Received the internal parts for two of my shades. Watched the you tube video and removed the old and installed the new. It was very easy and they work again. I now have two more I need to order parts for. Don’t expect them to work for too long because the mechanism that locks the shade in position is made with very tiny plastic tabs that easily break.

Don't know which brand you have but if you Google YouTube MCD roller shade adjustment you'll get a very useful video on how to adjust the speed and height for the MCD shades.

My shades are ISD. It’s not the adjustment, I know how to adjust them. Internal plastic parts are broken from normal use. I was able to obtain new parts and they work fine for now.

I replaced the broken shade, have had the replacement for 3 months. Jayco does not make it easy to work on them and why I have procrastinated. I played with the broken one once of the valance, and best I can tell something is broken as neither one will stay down. I have emailed MCD about possible fixes/parts? I will update when I hear from them. I am posting pictures and notice the new one immediately started coming apart in the bottom plastic piece that you grab to pull the shade up/down. Can't make this up. Called the dealer and he told me what he thought might work, but it did not. I then flipped the bottom piece upside down and saw what was happening. It is hard to explain but it was an easy fix. The first two pictures are of the broken shade. The last two are the new one, now hopefully fixed

There are You Tube videos that show how to repair the shades. I had one that was stuck, and was able to take it apart and put it back together very easily. Saved me ~$400 for a new shade. I believe the manufacturers website also has videos that explain what you have to do. Good luck -
