Mattress Foundation

Just finished my second season in my fifth wheel. The original mattress was not comfortable and sagged in the middle. So I bought a new mattress for this year. Same problem. So after looking closer the plywood foundation the mattress lays on is bowed in the middle. When I put a straight edge across there is over 1/2 inch gap in the middle. Wondering if anybody had a similar problem and what did you do to correct the problem. I have a short queen mattress.

Our mattress foundation was sagging and I complained to my dealer. He corrected it by replacing the structure under the plywood with 2"x 3" lumber.

On my old fifth wheel, I got a 4" x 4" piece of aluminum angle as long as plywood is wide and bolted it to the plywood. Straightened the bow right out of the plywood.
Placed angle right about where your waist will be in bed or a little higher.
On the Jayco's you can use angle, but have to change the wood under the plywood or at least take wood off, place angle on plywood and then cut wood before putting back on plywood.

We also have a 2015 Pinnacle. The mattress that came with it was bad. Unlike yours, our rose up towards the middle (from head to foot). It felt like a 2X4 or 2X6 ran the length of the matters when we tried to move towards the center of the bed. We checked the mattress, the plywood, etc., and could figure out what was causing the issue. We just knew it was not comfortable and we were both forced to the edges of the bed and forced to sleep on our sides. Rolling over on our backs was like going uphill with a board partway under us. Went to a mattress store, bought a quality matters and that took care of the problem.
