MaxxAir Fan Controls Don't Work

We have our brand new North Point home. Today I used the MaxxAir fan to move the air around, but now it won't shut off using the control panel at all.

I manually closed the vent lid for now, but the fan is still running.

Any ideas on how to get it to respond on the keypad OR just shut it off?

Throw all the breakers off, or the main breaker and then it should stop. Flip them back on and see if it works again. I've got two wonky Maxxair fans too, sometimes they won't turn on and sometimes they won't turn off. Neither I or the service dept can figure out where the gremlin lives that makes them act up

The maxxair is 12 V so throwing the breakers off will not do anything. You can pull the fuse (usually the one for the lights in that area) and then reinsert it and see if that helps. This would be covered under warranty.. The other thing you can do is call Maxxair their tech support is pretty darn good.

Keep pushing the speed down button, should kill the motor.

I'm on hold with MaxxAir now. Found the fuse but it didn't reset it and as soon as I plugged it back in the fan went back on.

I'll try holding the button to turn it off, but so far none of the buttons seem to be responding at all.

Guess we're getting the bugs out without even going on the road yet.

Best time to find the bugs! Firm believer in some shakedown runs, better to be fixing it in the driveway than at a campground interrupting your weekend. Keep us posted, I'm curious if I have same issue

Just talked to MaxxAir. Best customer service experience with our RV yet! New circuit board being sent to our house with an easy swap out once it arrives.

Pulled the fuse for the time being and manually closed it until I can swap out the board.

Bertimus, I have the exact opposite situation, the fan will not turn on. Rand new camper, new fan. I spoke with my dealer and he thought it might be the board. How difficult was it in swapping out the board? What is your level of mechanical aptitude? Mine is rather low. Thanks for your help.

It wasn't too hard. Just had to take off the screen, then there are screws that hold up the casing and board, including the one in the black handle to remove.

If I remember right (and this was a year ago), I had to cut the wires, strip the new ones, and wrap them with electrical tape to re-install it.

It took me about 30 minutes. I'm no pro, but just went slow and used common sense (and pulled the fuse prior to working on it).
