Maxxair in 321RSTS

Hi all,

We love our 2019 321RSTS in every way.. except one; that awful bathroom fan. Contemplating replacing with aMaxxair fan and install looks pretty straightforward... but there are always “gotchas”! Anyone don’t this mod yet, and does it make a difference as a “whole house fan”?

Thanks in advance all.. hope you are all healthy during this isolation!

I can’t speak to the install, as we had the dealer put it in before we took it home, but I remember the technician said he was able to reuse the ceiling trim piece because of the depth of the roof over the bathroom.

The fan is awesome! We open up the cross breeze windows in the dinette slide and you can feel the fan pulling in lots of air.

On our 2017 321rsts I pulled the lazy breeze (easy breeze) out myself. Installed a maxxair multiple speed. Had to replace the maxxairII cover as well because the new unit opens much higher. That was the only gotcha.
If I where doing it again I would buy the maxxair fan with the remote. My wife can't reach the control buttons. Her solution is a hair brush handle.
We do really like the maxxair. We leave it running on lowest speed most of the time. Crank it up when needed.. Shower time on high we have seldom fogged the mirror. You know its moving air when you can feel air flow under the door with your toes!
The highest object on our roof now is the Maxxfan cover. Have the colman ultralow front a/c Still well under 13'6"

I replaced the junk fan the first week I brought the FW home as the wife could not reach the fan. I replaced it with a max fan that has the remote. I mounted the remote on the wall next to medicine cabinet. Not a hard install at all. One of the best things we did.

Pretty much the same with the Greyhawk 29MVP. The on/off switch is on the wall near the door but you have to reach up to open the cover. My wife cannot reach it. I will be replacing it with a Max or Fantastic with a remote open/rainsensor/varispeed. I did that before on the cyclone. It is a pretty easy change-out.

Whomever decided to put a fan in that you have to reach to either never used one or was tall enough and forgot about short people and women. Poor engineering.

We have a 2017 291rsts and replaced the bath fan with a fantastic fan with thermostat, similar to the maxi fan.
Big regret that I didn’t get the one with the remote, DW can’t reach the controls.

Do you have one that you can control it by a hand controller?

I replaced it with the maxair after 1 trip. The only gotcha is the depth of the roof. The plastic liner provided doesn’t fill the space between the fan and bathroom ceiling. I reused the original with some minor mods to the top corners. Maxair didn’t respond to my request for a deeper one.

The hand controls are on the fan. I’ll probably make a stick with rubber boot on it for the few times she needs to turn it on when I’m not there.
