Maxxis tire option now Goodyear

The order sheets and options on the Jayco site have dropped the upgraded tire to maxxis option to Goodyear US made tires and mandatory. This is on the Eagles.

Goodyear trailer tires have been made in China for many years. So either they are lying or just recently Goodyear's are being in the US???

Anyone hear that the Goodyear's are now made in the US?

When we ordered our 2017 355MBQS in August 2016, we had ordered the Maxxis tire upgrade. At the time, our dealer did say that Jayco was going to start putting Goodyear tires on all of their units. When I went to the Jayco site and looked at our model, it now says that the Goodyear tires are a mandatory option (as you mentioned in your original post). In addition, the Jayco site also says "(Made in the USA)" at the end of this option. Based on this, I'm more confident that they're made here in the good 'ol USA and not the traditional Chinese bombs.

Goodyear just started this new USA line and I believe it is currently exclusive to Jayco. They are not Marathons, but another brand. Here is the release.

I hope they're better than the "Raniers" that came on mine...

Thanks for the info! I figured it had to be a recent change. Not sure if I should have my new LT Firestone transforce HT's pulled of my trade and put on the Jayco or not. I will have to give a close look at these US made Goodyear's.

G 614's have always been made in the US why would the new ones be any less quality?

Couldn't tell ya. I do know the Goodyear trailer tires I ever bought, seen, had, saw, touched were all China made. Now apparently they are US made. I'm iffy on them. Just want to see these tires and see the US made on the sidewall and not China.

The Endurance line is a ST tire. The G614 is not a ST tire. It is way heavier all over than a ST tire. I have not seen the Endurance yet but I have had the Marathon ST and they did not hold up on the heavier fifth wheels.

They were made in USA once but then went to China. Now it sounds like they are coming back here.

Because it is 14 ply and steel belts. Doesn't change the fact that it is a ST.

Looked them up. Not your normal everyday trailer tire. They are G rated and 110 psi. I highly doubt Jayco is installing these tires.

I have them on my PINNACLE. They are an option, at least on the upper line.

It's funny how everybody lose theirs minds when tires are made in China. It doesn't matter where the tires is being built. It's simply the build process than determine the quality of a tire ( and any other product as well). At least give some real arguments for being so patriotic like : I want to spend my money in the good ol' USA so that I can create job and help my fellow american instead. I just don't understand why a tire is better because it's made in the USA... like the US don't build cheap stuff.

Just pick a tire that is well made with quality parts, That's all.

Tell your dealer to ask the sales rep. You may be surprised

The verification of the build process is the most important thing. This includes everying in the process flow from raw material to packaging and everything in between. Its not that it cannot be done in China its that it can be ignored and history has shown it often is.

No need to. Mandatory option so the trailer will have them when ordered. If they look good and are marked made in the US, I will try them. If I'm not feeling them, I will have the dealer swap the tires with my LT Firestone Transforce HT's that are on my trade unit, they are fresh yet.

Do they even make 110 psi G rated trailer rims in 6 lug?? The Eagles have 6 lug axles.
