MCD 1700 Series dual roller shades

2020 Jayco pinnacle 36 FBTS purchased December 2019. The big MCD Shade at the end of the trailer is not working. When you pull the shade down it makes a terrible clicking sound. It does not roll back up on its own. I have watched videos. I’ve read the paperwork that came with the trailer. I called MCD once and left a voicemail. I have not called them back yet. I have taken the little mechanisms apart that are responsible for speed, starting and stopping, and they all look good. Nothing broken. Anyone have a solution for this problem?

I would have the dealer replace the shade!

I can do that, but we live full time in our rig. Packing the RV to take for service for a shade is a major pain. Depending on cost I will try to fix it myself. Repair shop already said it takes less time to replace than repair. Thank you for the advice.

I can certainly understand as we are full time also. I would think that you could take the shade to the dealer and they could order one for you that you could install yourself. I would think that they would understand.
