Minor Problem after cleaning black tank

Why didn't someone tell me beforehand? I purchased my 5th used and discovered that even when fully drained my black tank panel indicated it still held water. Several earlier flushes came clear - without any improvement ... so following others advice I purchased "some stuff" to clean the tank sensors. In my case that stuff was dawn dish soap and Borax (I can not find calgon locally).

I debated whether to first fill with water then add "stuff (1 cup of each)" OR reverse the contents. I chose stuff first, figured water added afterwards would best mix it up; I also figured when bubbles started coming upwards I'd stop adding until the next day. I planned on then topping it off and allowing it to sit a few days.

Well let me inform you all, another fact of physics is that soap bubbles also take the path of least resistance. Once I finally had bubbles arising in the toilet bowl I quit and went outside.

There I found a nice bed of bubbles had come off the roof top vent and bathed the front end of the camper. So why didn't someone tell me beforehand?

LOL. That's Dawn for you. You must have a water softener too. The bubbles will settle down. Must have been a sight to see the bubble coming out of that vent.

good one! The only thing that has cleared my black tank light was putting the "wand" (I purchased at WalMart for about $7) down the toilet and giving it a good cleaning. It does a better job than the factory installed rinser.

Updates to comments.

Someone, somewhere said they couldn't find calgon and they settled (successfully) with Borax. That's why I chose that combo; and within the hour our daily rains commenced yet again, no evidence was left behind.

There were no witnesses, at least none that I'm aware of.

I've not seen this magic toilet wand (in my Walmart) but if this attempt is unsuccessful then I'll search one out.

Topside may/may not be sparkling, but it should smell better.

One of my favorite Lawrence Welk skits:
And I'm told NO, that's not Red Skelton (intro'd as Kenny Trimble?) ...

Now returning to regular programming, this morning I went back to top off the tank. It only held ounces before filling the actual bowl. That was cutting it close.
