Ok, that makes more sense and reasonable. My aux tank adds 45 gallon for total of 77 gal.

Thanks

Looks nice. I'm also looking at an ATI-AUX46RIK 46 gallon in bed aux tank for my 2007.5 Dodge Ram CTD Megacab dually, 4x2. I have a shorted and a tonneau cover and I want the tank to be covered and not hit the B&W Companion slider I have installed.

Last August, I installed a 52 gallon Titan midship tank as a stock replacement, but it hung 4" lower than stock. I only had 5" ground clearance on level pavement. I sold it to a guy with a 2006 Dodge Ram 3500 4x4, and he later wrote me where he had an incident with some ice over the winter and it ripped the middle section open. All I can say is for everyone to stay away from Titan as they do not stand behind their products and would not offer me a full refund. Only $450 of the $1350 I paid. Go with an inbed aux tank as it will hold a lot more for a lot less $$. I lost $800 on that event.

Finally had a free weekend with some nice weather so i decided to finally do the Lippert shock install. I’ve had these in the box waiting to be installed for several months.

Wheel removed

Bracket install. Luckily the screws from the other side didn’t interfere and behind it was a support brace screwed to the frame. Also not pictured is replacing the u bolts and axle plate

Shock installed.

Now the fun part. I put my tire back on and check underneath

Instructions say 2-1/2” minimum clearance needed between tire and frame. Mine was 2-5/8”.
So, take it all apart and I decided to drill a new hole in the bracket

This is after drilling and reinstall

All in all not too bad. Should take about 30 minutes per wheel if no clearance issues. If so, add another 10-15 per wheel

Tom I hope they do you a good job. I have really liked my Joy Rider Shocks. Every thing seems to stay in place inside.
These empty boxes and coolers have been up there for 560 miles.

Maybe it’s just an optical illusion, but that looks super tight. When the suspension compresses on that side, won’t the shock bottom pivot into the frame member? I’ve never studied the solid axle suspension on these campers, but I assume they work like cars that have them and camber-in as the suspension compresses on one side...

Yes it’s tight but the original holes rubbed the tires

I have about half an inch between shock and tire and shock and frame

Not sure. Hope not. Going to take it for a test drive to find out for sure.

I’ll report my findings after the test pull. I have a feeling I should have not been a cheapskate and just opted for the joy rider system.

Alright, I've got a question for the experts...another post got me thinking and I've been meaning to order an extra slide motor to keep on hand just incase of failure. So I found the motor here: https://www.amazon.com/Lippert-Compo...ustomerReviews

But before I purchase, I also saw a 500:1 motor here: https://www.amazon.com/Lippert-Compo...ustomerReviews

The two motors look pretty close (based on the pictures alone), so I'm wondering if I can just purchase 2 of the 500:1 motors to replace the ones in the kitchen slide and keep the existing 300:1 motors as spares? Do y'all think they would just swap out?

Do you work for google or FB? Lol

I was thinking of doing the same thing. I’m fairly certain there’s no physical difference between the 300:1 vs. the 500:1

In fact, my service guy at the dealer claims I already have 500:1 on the kitchen slide when I told him I wanted to upgrade. After I told him I doubted his claim, he stated they look they same but the guts (gears) are different

I'm positive (at least on my unit) that I have the 300:1 motors, as I asked to have Jayco upgrade them during warranty and was denied, so they replaced with the same 300:1 motors.

Just remember I work for the government and I'm here to help...I've got those spy satellites zoomed in on Magnolia, TX...lol!

Half way through our two week road trip to Florida and back.

Speaking of backs, mine isn’t too thrilled with the Simmons mattress in the master bedroom, even with a pillow topper.

Suggestions on a replacement, king size? Something that works well without a boxspring...
