I checked and there’s no wiring there [emoji30]

FYI, you can run 3 at a time. You have 50 amp service which is 2 legs of 50 amps each which totals 100 amps

I’ve a 20a breaker in that 3rd opt a/c spot and I keep it switched off. If mine’s wired like yours is, it is a mystery where it goes.

I would be willing to bet you are wired for a 3rd AC and just have the wrong sticker on there. The 3rd AC wiring is pretty much standard for the 18's and 19's so chances are it was for the 16's too. And yes there is wiring running to the vent in the loft which is where the 3rd AC would go.

As for those who have seen some issues on the 19's I stopped in and talked to my dealer last week and apparently in June Jayco shut down production for about a week because they were having a LOT of quality issues that were getting discovered by dealers and owners on the 19's. Apparently they (Jayco exec's and all) went through and QA'ed every single unit on the line and the line managers got reamed for all the issues found. Our dealer mentioned the unit that they got after that (which ended up being a week and a half late because of it) was the best unit they have ever seen as there was nothing they had to fix and the new owner has yet to call with a break in issue.

Fingers crossed that is still the case when mine comes off the line this week (can't wait to see my new toy/project).

That's good to know. I thought you only had 50 amps total to work with.

Ok, I'm going to let the cat out of the bag on my latest mod....
I am not quite finished with it yet but here goes.

As some of you may know, I've been looking for a solution to cut down on some heat coming into the trailer. I was looking at the EZ snap shades. Well, that didn't really cut it for me. Mopar Earl made a comment asking if I had 3 ACs which I thought was crazy because I didn't think that was an option. So, I decided to do some investigating on what it would take to add a third AC. Of course now I find out that the 17-19 models have that option.

So, here is what I did. I added the third AC!!! Special thanks to Brad from another forum who gave me some good tips during my research.

I removed the vent from the loft. There were no wires from the factory. I ran a 12/2 wire for power and a 18/5 thermostat wire. I removed the vent and cleaned up all the decor. Then added eternabond tape to seal up the screw holes. I cut into the ductwork and made a "plenum" of sorts to get the air from the AC into the ducting. Then blocked the opening, taped it up good and installed the chill grill.

I ran the 12/2 down the wire chase which is in the corner of the loft down to the breaker box. I ran the t-stat wire thru the medicine cabinet chase (over the toilet) down to where the inverter panel is located.

I am not quite finished yet...I still need to wire the 110 into the breaker box...I need a 15/20 amp double breaker. And I need to wire up the t-stat which should arrive on Monday.

I did some preliminary testing of the electrical system to see what item was on which leg. Here is what I found...I will be connecting the new AC to leg 2 (going to use the washer breaker since I have a combo unit plugged into the dryer outlet)

Leg 1
Microwave 16 amps
Dryer
BR AC 13 amps
Water Heater 10 amps

Leg 2
Converter 3 amps
Refrigerator/inverter 3
LR AC 11 amps
Washer

Sorry the pics are goofy...Can't upload on my phone and I'm not used to posting via computer.

Ha! That is exactly what I was going to guess based on the prior posts about the mystery wire. You are brave, don't think I would have the guts to tackle that on my own.

Texas gulf coast is just as hot and humid! Now I hope to have the ability to keep the trailer at 72 or colder during the summer! [emoji3]

Thanks. It really wasn’t too bad. Getting the unit onto the roof was the hardest part but my DW helped!

I plan on taking the trailer out next week after it’s all complete and post my results. Should be in the high 90s to low 100s with high humidity

What a mod Tom! Are your kids excited or concerned they’re gonna turn into an Eskimo to sleep up there? I’ve not seen a 377 with a 3rd ac. I think you’ve just expanded your residential refer! Lol. I’ll bet you’ll be able to hang meat up in the loft!

That’s gonna be awesome in 100 degree heat that’ll be coming in Sept. So the 2nd ac on my invoice was $1124. Did you do better than that?

I called Jayco and asked for the wiring diagram for the 3rd AC on my 2019. The 3rd AC prep was listed as a new feature on the 19 release page. They told me they didn’t have anything but that it was wired to the fan area in the kitchen and not the vent in the loft. That doesn’t make sense to me but I haven’t pulled the vent trim yet to check.

Thanks Darin. My total cost was a little more than that.

I looked in the kitchen vent on mine and there was nothing there except 12v wire for the fantastic fan

Wowee! Congrats on that major mod!

I love the low profile of these Machs and how they will all match one another, unlike other fivers I see where one is different and taller than the other.

So when do the disc brakes get installed?
