Needs a little TLC but with a little clean up and some grease, it’ll be good as new.
Does that have an adapter to the puck mounts?

Trailer saver makes an adapter for it ($600) but the PO had the hitch installed with bed rails. I’m going to get the Reese adapter for half that.

All in I’m about a third what a new one would cost. The PO even gave me the compressor, gauge and switch that went with it.

Got it cleaned up and lubed. Aired up bags and holds pressure nicely. Can’t wait to test it out

Two anomalies in last five days. On Sunday, a loose driver side battery cable sent us for a loop, fixed myself. Then this evening as I’m pulling to a stop at a rest area, trailer really pushed me. Hmmm, what’s with the brakes?
I see a long trail of fluid on the driver side. Opened hood, was not my master cylinder/hydro booster. That was replaced two and a half years ago. I look underneath the camper and find...Click image for larger version

A broken brake line. Notice the position of the caliper. It’s at 6 o’clock, should be at 9. All five bolts have sheared off the caliper arm, missing in action. The trail of brake fluid started in the long truck trailer lane. For most of us, that’s game over right there. I keep an assortment of leftover nuts n bolts and other items in a small case. Fortunately I had two matching bolts with nuts that fit the bolt holes (slightly smaller) to temporarily hold the caliper from dragging on the inner wheel drum to tow into Ft Wayne. Now tomorrow I gotta hunt down how to get it all repaired. Kodiak brakes are not supposed to do this sort of thing. What caused the bolts to shear off? And at 10 mph coming to a stop? Took two hrs to get back on the road. Fortunately we were at a safe rest area, level parking, yet rain showers that hit us twice while putting the bandaid on. I need a good shower now and a beer to rejuvenate.

Wow Darin. You were lucky. Hope you get it fixed up without too much headache. Are you going to need a new brake hose/line? Where will you try to source one? Good luck to you

Thanks Tom. Towing 16k without brakes can feel really scary. It last happened when we towed it from the dealer after delivery. I bought the whole kit through ETrailer and had it installed in Elkhart. I’ll start by calling them seeing if they can fit me in soon. If not, I’ll try around in Ft Wayne. I’ll call ETrailer tomorrow morn to see what they say. Then I’ll probably call Kodiak and see if they can send replacement parts. Their brakes are not supposed to fail in this manner. So far, a brake line, maybe a new caliper, studs and probably a new arm, and brake fluid. I’ll have new pads put on all way around. It’s just crazy and I’m still in shock this failure happened.

I’ve heard good things about both etrailer and Kodiak. Hopefully they will make things right for you.

Mods to 377 RLBH?

Not sure if anybody has had to beaf up the top two shelves in the kitchen pantry yet. It might have been on here already but I figure I would share anyway. I am going to do the same to the shelves in the bedroom closest where the washer/dryer would go.

The second shelf which holds the plates did not stand up to the trip to Gulf Shores State Park earlier this week. It was the front of the shelves that had come loose. Went out to Lowe’s and got some 2.5” L Brackets and that did the trick. Had to have a short handle Phillips to get the backers under the top shelf.

Thanks Tom, I just hope one of the two will come forward and make things right. I’ve yet to explore online and see if anyone else had all studs fail in this manner, on any disc brake. Just when everything is so terribly smooth, 35 of 305 miles from today’s travel destination, and boom. A silent woe.

Mine came with adjustable brown plastic clips on four side strips. They were just stapled and finally crashed down on one trip. I added 32 screws(8x4) No problem since. Click image for larger version

Anyone ever replace the master bedroom carpet with linoleum?

Feels like it’s not glued down on floor areas, just on the trim and closet surfaces. Figure I’d leave the carpet in those areas

I have a 2018, anyone know where to get matching flooring from rest of coach?

After touring the Hershey RV show and seeing the 2019s, wife has made the carpet removal a special winter request.

Glad she didn’t request the taller slides.

Funny you mention this. My wife wants to get rid of the carpet as well. I’m fairly certain it’s only stapled onto the plywood. Getting the matching vinyl is the problem. Maybe you could get it from Jayco or even have the dealer order it. I was thinking of just using something like some vinyl plank wood flooring. If you tried to match the vinyl, you’ll have a seam at the door which would be hard to conceal so may as well use something completely different and complimentary to the other flooring.

My wife wants me to figure out how to replace the slide out carpet. I can do it but unless I get matching vinyl, it won’t look right.

Good luck

Tom, I was suppose to get my flooring replaced last year because of some screw heads... Jayco said there was no more of the 2016 style vinyl plank and I would have to pick the 2017.
Didn’t like it. So I am keeping the screw head bulges.

For what it’s worth, 2019 has gone back to a plank style.
