Darin

Why not drill out the rivers to remove the hinge you need to install on the new door? PITA to need to do this on a new replacement door that “should “ fit but it could be done easily and fairly quickly.

Mods to 377 RLBH?

Aww man, me with a rivet gun...? I’ve not ever used one, but I’ll bet I’ll mess that up, more than what I have now. Did you see how the rivets are off a bit on the new product?

I’ll just shoot some silicone in the channel and tape it up and let it cure.

I counted 16 rivets on that hinge flange! A heck of a task to get it done right.

Then another 16 I’m guessing on mine and I’m sure they won’t match up. Then to make nearly as many new holes. Can you say Swiss Cheese here?

Once you have that hinge off, fill any old holes that don’t line up and drill new ones for the new rivets. Or you could just get some epoxy [emoji3]

You are full of interesting suggestions. You are a ‘make it work’ man! I’m in that mood a lot of the time. Still on the fence trying to decide. I could hang it on the wall of my new shop as decor?

Little known fact: the only authorized Star Trek museum in the world is in Ticonderoga, NY, same town where the pencils are made. It has a fully recreated set as per original blueprints, including sickbay, board room, captain’s quarters, transporter room, engine room, and bridge.

The owner of the museum, James Cawley, is also one of top Elvis impersonators in Las Vegas.

Further, Ticonderoga is at the northernmost tip of Lake George, NY, Queen of America’s Lakes. We go there every August.

Carry on.

Thanks Cannon. I’m just glad to be road worthy once again. Then, In a couple more years I’ll do it all over again...well, just new pads then.

MUST READ for those with the Norcold 120v/LP Fridge!

Not truly a "mod", but a tool that any of us with the Norcold 1200 series RV 120v/LP double door refrigerator need to add to our toolbox. Stop at your local Tractor Supply and ask for a "cow magnet". They feed these to cows to collect any metal that the cow may eat... don't ask me... I'm not a farmer....

ANYWAY, the 1200 has "recall box" that monitors for overheat and shuts the fridge down , in both 120v and LP modes, if it senses the overheat. The problem is that this switch is noted by many to trip with either high humidity or with a power surge. This is FURTHER exacerbated by Norcold refusing to allow dealers to stock the replacement, NOR will they allow anyone to BUY the replacement. They ONLY sell the part to Norcold authorized repair centers, by the serial number of the fridge. Which means that you sit without a working fridge for a few days, while they get it to the repair center, and pay for someone to install it (one screw, three spade connections, and a ground wire).

So this past weekend I was camped at Dover International Speedway for the NA$CAR race. My Norcold fridge threw the "LiOp" code that indicated that this "box" had tripped. This is when my education on this began. After doing a bit of Google research, I learned of the code and all of the problems getting parts. I also learned that there was an "internet fix" that others had applied, that works.

The "box" is located behind the lower grill of the fridge vent tower. The "box" has a red light on it. if the fridge has the LiOp code, the light will be on. Make sure that there isn't a REAL overheat problem (which could cause a fire)! If the light is lit, hold your cow magnet (or other small but powerful magnet that you can fit in the small space) directly against the box cover, just below the light. You may have to hold it for as long as 30-seconds, but IT WORKS!!!!

It reset my switch, the fridge immediately re-fired, and I've had no more problems with it. I consider the $9.99 investment for three of the magnets to be a good investment, as it "saved" my camping weekend, and saved me the cost of a service call!

Fire instructor

That’s pure genius! I don’t have a norcold fridge but this kind of information should be invaluable to anyone that does.

And, BTW, this weekend's run from Albany, NY to Dover, DE and back were the first run for the new Sailun S637's. VERY happy with the way they rode, and how they maintained temperature and pressure on the TPMS. I may have been imagining it, but it felt like they ran a lot soother than the factory Raineer's, as well.....

Welcome to the Sailun club! No more constant worrying about tires is so nice!

Sad day today.... Started winterizing the rig until Spring. Drained and flushed the black tank and the gray tanks multiple times, drained the freshwater tank, took the TST sending units off of all of the wheels, cleared out "stuff" that goes inside the house, and re-leveled with some 6x6's under the jacks, so that the jacks don't need as much extension.

Used my Flo-Jet macerator to pump the black and gray directly into the septic. I've used it while camping before, but never at home. Worked GREAT!

Tomorrow is "add the pink stuff" day, as I'm running out of daylight and the beer is cold....

I've already got a list of repairs & mods for the Spring, most of which are things that others in the group have done. Wish I could do some of them before Winter, but I've got neck surgery scheduled for Thursday, so I want to wrap-up as many things as I can before then.

I’m hanging in for a few more weeks Fire Instructor.
I wish I had a masorator though to take the worry out of emptying the black tank before shutting her down.

I've winterized our trailer but that's just to get us until the end of the year then it will (hopefully) be in the SW and not freezing. We use ours in the winter and it just sits idle all summer. I normally don't need to winterize on the way home.

It’s probably ‘cause they’re “rounder” than the Ranieer’s.
