Mods to 377 RLBH?

Started on my kitchen remodel today.
Here is what I started with

I removed the glass cover by removing 4 screws (two hidden under plastic caps)

Then I removed the top to the cooktop. Push it back then lift up to remove. This exposes 4 screws that hold the oven to the counter top plywood.

Now, remove 2 screws under the oven

Once those are out you can remove the oven. I turned off propane and bled the lines prior to starting this.

Next, I capped off the propane line using a brass cap I got from Lowes.

Now time to remove the old top. It's glued down but I used a putty knife and hammer to break it free. You could remove all the cleats and remove them once the top is off. In hindsight I should have done it this way as it would have been much easier. I ended up removing the cleats so I could remove the get everything lined up and level

Next was test fitting the new top. Also got it from lowes. Trying to find a matching laminate was not easy. I would have had to buy a full sheet just for this 2x4 piece. Would have been over $800. So I got some prefab Formica instead. I'll keep an eye out for some remnant solid surface laminate and may swap it out in the future.

Now I need to get 2 new drawers made and stained to match. I've ordered new pulls to match from Jayco. Once I receive the new induction cooktop I will cut the hole in the top and secure it into place. Finally I'll add a peel and stick tile to the backsplash.

Can't you get any drawers or doors from Jayco?
They must have them. You're under warranty and if one was to come apart they would have to replace it.

I probably could get them but they would be the same size and construction of the original. Mine will be a little more "robust". I may just get the fronts. I need to do the layout to see if I have the space. I believe the bottom drawer front is 9" tall.

What size breaker and wiring does it need?

Awesome idea! Are you planning on installing a different oven or just using the convection for everything? I wish there were a way to drain from the slide, I'd take advantage of that space for a Drawer Dishwasher!

Getting rid of the oven. We will use the microwave if we need to bake anything. We will have just the induction cooktop with 2 extra drawers below it.

Mods to 377 RLBH?

Finished up the "kitchen remodel" today.

Added some supports for the new drawer guides

Next, I cut the hole for the cooktop

I didn't like how the cooktop sits on top of the counter so I got the router and a rabbet bit to cut down the inside edge so the cooktop surface and counter top surface would be flush

Then got new drawers fitted. The front are made of poplar. I didn't have a bit to match the profile but it's good enough for now.

The cooktop comes on (actually sleep mode) once it gets plugged in so I added a switched outlet so it doesn't accidentally turn on when we are using the counter for something else.

Here you can see the counter top fitted with the new cooktop.

Next was to add the backsplash "tile". Got these at Lowes

Tile in progress

Drawers got some stain. Not completely happy with the color match but it'll do for now. I have 2 drawer fronts ordered from Jayco parts.

Once I put a coat of varnish and the drawer pulls on the new drawers, they don't look as bad as I thought they did. Momma's happy so I am too.

We are very pleased with the new layout. Can't wait to go camping!

That is an AMAZING job! The factory could not have done better. How 'bout a quick trip to Indiana to do mine? Lovely here now with the gray skies and bare trees. Again, great job Tom. Terry

That's really good.

What will you do with the old oven?
