Added some step lights

Here's the switch on the wall that I add to control them

Beginning of speaker swap

Notice how small the magnet is. The stock speakers are really cheaper than I imagined.

Tom - What speakers did you go with? Only asking, because I'll have to pull the living room stereo this weekend and see why the speakers in the living room aren't working.

Interested in how your speaker swap ends up sounding. . Are you doing all 6 of them, and the outdoor?
I think it's got a lot to do with the piece of junk amp inside the Furrion.

And does anyone find that 3way switch (in Tom's picture), down near the floor convenient or easy to use?
It can't be reached unless your on the steps, by then you have to bend over. It should be on the left side beside the door at regular height.

I went with some 6.5" JL Audio speakers. I got them to put on our boat, but I'm selling it so I am using them in the camper instead. Right now I'm only doing 4 in the living room.

I don't like that switch down there either. I do use it when I'm opening up the trailer and I'm on the ground reaching in but it should be on the other side so you don't have to open the door all the way to get to it.

BTW - I like the step lights! I'm not showing that one to my wife or she'll have me doing that this weekend too. You keep making my honeydo list longer and longer!

Awesome job Tom.

Please keep sharing your mods and pictures.
Your getting the creative juices flowing and you have me coming up with a lot of ideas for our trailer.

Thanks

One thing about the speakers...the stock ones have a 6" hole cutout and the trim ring (which is built in) is 7". My new speakers need about a 5.5" hole so I'm going to need to do creative mounting to get the new ones to fit and mount correctly

Here's the blue lights in the bunk room

Kids love it... I'm still on the fence about it

Much easier for the kids (and me) to turn on the lights now. I left the under cabinet light switch in its original location. I will add some blue LED accent lights under the cabinets as well and use the switch that used to control the ceiling lights
so many questions you have raised with me! First, when can you get to my house and do it to our rig? Jk but what gauge wire did you use and how did you feed the wire from the old switch to the new one?

I used 14 gauge wire. I drilled a hole in the inside corner of the upper cabinet to get the wire from the switch. Then I drilled into the top side of the cabinet to run the wire over the wardrobe cabinet. Once over the cabinet you can retrieve the wire. It's much easier if you remove your control panel to get access and see how the cabinet is put together.

Thanks... I HATE cutting my 2 acres, but I love tinkering with the trailer.
My 25 year old Honda mower just isn't going to make it this year. Liquid cooled motor still runs like a top but the deck and tires are shot
Time to put her down

I might have just spent my disc brake upgrade

I think you may be right on the junk amp. My new speakers (Polk audio not JL) sound as bad as the originals [emoji22]
May just get a subwoofer or sound bar and call it a day.

Yep... When I swapped my Ford stock radio with my Eclipse head unit it was night and day difference with the stock speakers.

I was thinking sound bar too. One with a skinny sub that would fit beside the couch (sofa...couch is a Canadian word I think) and the wall, but I haven't been able to measure the gap.
And attach the sound bar above the fireplace.
Samsung has one with a 7" wide bt sub and the sound bar has a hdmi in and out. The Furrion head unit has an hdmi out but no other digital outs.. So the Samsung should work good with the hdmi in and back out to the tv.
I haven't seen any in that price range with an in/out.. Most just have an optical in

We call it couch in Texas [emoji3]

Believe it or not, I am actually considering a Furrion powered sub because I'm pretty sure it'll plug and play. I've spent enough money already... Wife is starting to question the "need" for some of these mods (my mods actually, not hers LOL)
