More Chinese Tire junk

Took our .North Point to the dealer yesterday for warranty on the awning struts and they did a state inspection and found bulges in two of the Ranier tires so I had to leave it there to have them replaced and to see what Jayco was going to offer as a credit towards new tires. Heard back today from the dealer and Jayco authorized $125 per tire including the spare. I was originally looking to get the Goodyear G617 "G" rated tires in 235/85/16 which had a load capacity of 3750lbs but the dealer also said that Goodyear is making another tire that's made in the US called the Endurance which is a "E" rated tire and in the same size was rated for 3640lbs so I couldn't see spending double the money for the G614's just to get 110 pound increase in capacity so I am going with the Endurance which will cost me $125 out of pocket for all 5 tires. Just frustrated that Jayco would put such cheap tires on such an expensive unit. If you have the Rainier tires check your side wall asap and keep a close look at them.

Jayco is shipping Eagles with us made Goodyear tires. It's a mandatory option.

There are no us made trailer tires until the Goodyear tires that just hit the market. I put Firestone LT tires on my current trade trailer. Even Maxxis tires are imported.

We put the 614's on our 5er about a year before the G'year US made ST tires were announced, expensive but I drive without worrying. I expect the new ones will give good service.
I think the Maxxis tires come from Taiwan or Indonesia (anywhere but you-know-where) which may explain the better reviews.
Good luck with the new rubber and let us fans know how they wear, inquiring minds and all that jazz.

The new Eagle I just picked up has the Goodyear Endurance tires on it. I am very happy about that development. I would have replaced the Rainer tires on my 2015 EagleHt with them if I had kept it.

Definitely keep us posted hownthe new GY Endurance do.

I was planning on getting the new Carlisle HD's, but the Endurance is a possibility pending reviews.

Good luck with the new shoes!!!

The Goodyear Endurance tire is made here in Gadsden AL. Hope they deliver great service!

About how many miles would you say it's been towed? I ran into a guy in another park where I'm at with a 2016 375 that had his replaced at around 4000 miles because of bulges. Never thought I'd had to worry about buying tires so soon. My 2016 375 tires look fine so far (last time I looked) but I've only towed it about 150 miles back and forth to the dealer trying to get warranty work done. But with what other are saying out there, looks like I'll be replacing mine also. Do you know at what load range tire would require a rim change on the 375? My tires are covered right now but I'm thinking the rim are rated at 80PSI.

I've said it before and I will say it again. The best tire insurance on the large units is to do the 17.5" upgrade. Costly yes but you get what you pay for.

If you get under your rv, you should see on the inside rim what they are rated for.
I have a Pinnacle and on my wheels they are stamped on the inside rim. Also go to Treditire and figure out which rims are on yours. Tredit told me they only supply 1 rim that is NOT rated for 110 psi

My tires had around 5000 miles on them. From what I have heard the rims on the North Point are rated for 110psi which you can go up to a "G" rated tire but like I said there was only a 110lb difference in load rating from the "E" rated Endurance (3640lbs) to the "G" rated G614 (3750lbs) so I couldn't see spending almost double the money. Plus I did go up a size to the 235/85/16 verses the 235/80/16 that came on them which also gave 200 more pds of capacity per tire just going with the larger size in the Endurance.

I'm going to look at the rims when I get them uncovered. Unit going back into the shop for awhile for warranty in April -????. Since I haven't seen any bubbles or bulges, I'll be paying the full shot. But yeah, the rating you posted doesn't seem that great overall between the ratings. Plus my pockets are getting pretty empty.

My bulges were on the inside wall, the sidewall facing out looked fine.

Question is; Will they be any better than the Goodyear Marathon that was (supposed to be the cats meow) Friends, my self included , have not had very good results with Chinese rubber. Maybe these will be different. One may just have to pay the $325.00 per tire, Like me.

The Endurance is made in the USA.

I was in by my dealer last week and he had 4 new takeoffs in the showroom. They were the new GY with rims. He said a guy bought a new HT and wanted to upgrade to a taller tire. I bought the rims and tires with 300 miles on for $650 including tax. I have been uneasy about the towmax that came on my camper. Hope these work!

Got a call this morning from my dealer and they are not charging me the additional cost of the tire wether they got Jayco to cover it or my dealer is coving it, once again I am a happy Jayco owner and a happy buyer of Rhone's RV. Pick it up Saturday morning.

That's excellent news Eric! 2 of our TowMax's blew within a 75 mile stretch and a 3rd was in the process of disassembling itself after a little less than 8K miles. We've accumulated a bit over 6k mi on the 614's to date and with the exception of a damaged valve stem have no tire issues since the change.
I have high hopes for the G'year Endurance and hope you get many smooth miles from them.
