MORryde Exterior Steps Issue

Just picked up a new 2023 Jayco Pinnacle. Before I left the Dealership, I noticed that as I tried to close the door, about 3-1/2 inches before closing it would stop and it was difficult to push it to a closed latch position. After further investigation, I found that the way the MORryde Exterior Steps Bracket lays up against the door frame, it prevents the screen door from closing properly. The Door Frame is designed for the Screen Door Frame to lay flat against the Door Frame but the Stairs Bracket has been placed between the Door Frame and the Screed Door Frame preventing the Door to function as designed. The Stairs Bracket interferes with the closing of the Screen Door/Outside Door at 3.5 inches from closing. I can’t believe Jayco would accept this flawed design. Has anyone else with the MORryde Steps had a similar problem? If yes, did you get it corrected?

Mine does the same thing, but not nearly as severe, not enough to let the dealership attempt to fix. I have rub marks on the door frame from the step bracket, and the plastic coating on it is squished. Not a fan of those steps.

That was not the problem on mine. The problem I had was on the bottom of the main door there is a plastic rub block that was stopping the bottom of the door from going in all the way. The bottom of the main door would flex and not close. I removed the plastic rub block and the door closes properly. Although it was tweaked after that and I had to bend it back a little.

Amazing it left QC like that

I don't like the steps either. When I parked the Pinnacle, I had 1 inch of clearance between my steps and the RV in storage next to mine when I let the steps down. If I move to the right 1-1/2" or the RV next to me moves to the left 1-1/2", I will not be able to let the steps down to get into my Pinnacle. I will have to connect to it and move it.

I had a similar problem. I carefully bent the frame with these visegrips and added a locking latch to the left side.

Before I adjusted it. I would force the door open while driving. Had to always lock the dead bolt to keep it closed.

The locking latch is only available for the one side.

I wish they offered the Lippert style step latch. If I could find the part number for the Lippert latch. I would order and fit to my steps.

I've put this in a couple of previous posts so apologies to those who've seen it. I had that issue in my rv garage, couldn't get the steps down because of the wall on that side. I took out the Mor-Ryde steps and replaced them with the Torklift Uprising steps. They scissor out so the distance they need to reach the ground is variable. They are not quite as solid as the Mor-Ryde's but close enough.
