Morryde shackle upgrade installed today.

Well I installed my Morryde shackle upgrade and wet bolt kit on my 2016 Eagle HT 27.5RLTS. It took me about five hours as I had to cut blocking for my jack stands and get set up. Not to mention it was 96 degrees here and on blacktop to boot. My DW say's I'm stubborn........She may be right.

I really should do this. I visually inspected my shackles and they looked fine. Our Eagle is now 6 years old but only has ~1500 miles on it as we only camp local. How did your shackles look before and what did you find when you disassembled?

Needing to do same just for piece of mind. How did you get the new Bering pressed in ? I was thinking putting them in the freezer for awhile to shrink like we used to do cylinder sleeves when OH engines

TC, My 2017 Eagle HT 27.5 RLTS probably has less miles on it than your rig. I have read all kinds of stories about the inferior stock bolts and bushings. THEY ARE TRUE! I disassembled my shackles and the bolts were bone dry. The bushings were cheap plastic and were worn through at least half way! The old shackle plate thickness was about 3/16" and the new Morryde plates are a nice beefy 1/2" also, the new bushings are brass or bronze.

Poohbear. The new bushings are easily installed using a C-clamp. Once you dig out the inferior plastic bushing, You just wipe a very light coat of grease on the new bushing and using the C-clamp you just draw into the shackle. Piece of cake! The interference fit is maybe .001" of an inch if that.

We had a 2007 Cameo & changed to the larger shackles after some issues...according to MorRyde, it only cost the manufacturer about 17 cents each more to add the larger shackles. Why they use the cheaper shackles makes no sense.

When we ordered our 2016 Pinnacle we ordered the larger shackles & the dealership changed them.
