Tom, it looks like the arm will interfere with the spare tire if you lower the front landing gears anymore. I've been to many sites already where I would need the front a lot lower than what you have now.
Thanks,
Dave...

Good eye because you are correct.
My revised setup procedure is to loosen (lower) the spare tire a few inches to create some slack and avoid interference or put any undue stress on the arms. I cinch it back up tight when we leave. Only adds a few seconds to the overall setup process.
Short of breaking out the welder, I don't see an easy way to move the spare tire back the few inches it needs. I don't really want to carry it in my truck, nor do I want to buy a holder to move it to the bumper as that will interfere with my bike racks, so I may end up reorganizing the camper basement a bit so I can store it in there out of the way somehow.

I was thinking about relocating my spare. I think its a bad spot, and the stem on mine at least is against the basement, so I cant even check the pressure without dropping the tire.
I think the basement is an ideal spot for it, as long as you arent a pack rat.

Added a bottle opener to the outside fridge, and I also picked up a telescoping flag pole for the rear hitch. I got a lot of inquiries about the flag pole and the light on top while up at the NASCAR race in NH this past weekend, so figured I'd share the links too:
Link for flag pole
Link for flag pole hitch holder
Link for LED light on top of flag pole

They look good Tom! For the Flag Pole, we went with the 12' kit from Flag Pole Buddy, which attaches to the ladder instead of the hitch. Yours is pretty nice too.

Thanks. I considered the ladder mount version but was worried about how much stress it would put on the ladder in high winds. Having now seen quite a few of them last weekend holding up just fine in 20mph winds, I think I was a bit overcautious.
Ah well, live and learn as they say.

Today I replaced all the heating vents with ones that have dampers. Now I can close the main cabin ones off and send more warm air to the front bedroom

Where did you get the vents? I'm interested. Thanks.

Our bedroom vent has very weak air flow. always has. Did this make a difference? The vent on the back steps in the bunk area throws off a ton of heat, and the one below the steps too.

Force,
Getting ready to do this. Can you post a more close up photo of the stops and the door? I showed DW, and she loved that idea.
thanks

I got the vents from a local camper place near Rochester, NY (we camped near Niagra Falls last week), I didn't save the box though. They happened to be a Coachmen dealer but the ones they had on the parts shelf fit (and matched) perfectly.

It did help but it was not as much as I'd hoped. What I really need to figure out is how to prevent the kids bunk room from tipping the 100 degree mark before the front bedroom heats up. That spinning-circle register thing in the floor above the heater (in the bunk room) cranks out tons of heat but there's no way to close it.
If I can't find a damper type to replace it, I'm thinking a 4" PVC elbow and a foot or two of pipe that I can place over it to divert heat beyond the pocket door and into the main living space would work. Might not look great but only has to be there at night. I'll start with function first, form later!

Here you go, hack carpentry skills on full display
I ended up sanding the top board a bit so it would open & close easy but still shut pretty snug. And after ~1 year of use, you can see where the bottom is starting wearing in a bit.

Thats great. Gives me a better idea on what you did, so I can do the same. I was thinking about a piece of 1x2 pine at the top and bottom going across the opening on the inside as the stop. Did you screw the center piece to the door?

I found some on Amazon prime. Just have to measure to make sure they would fit.
How was the trip? Hope you had a good time.

I did...very carefully, and before I actually cut the 1"x1" board that holds the center piece to the frame. Wasn't sure how much the glass insert went into the wood.
EDIT: And we had a great time on our trip, even on the days the weather didn't cooperate. 1,600 miles, 6 states, 8 days, can't wait to do it again.
