EDIT: And we had a great time on our trip, even on the days the weather didn't cooperate. 1,600 miles, 6 states, 8 days, can't wait to do it again.

Thanks again. Sounds like a good time. Id like to do another long trip, but I need to upgrade the TV before I do anything like Nashville again. That was a long trip for my Tundra with all those hills on 81.

I hear you there. I had 2 distinct moments that I wished I had a diesel, the rest of the trip I was plenty happy with my 2500HD gasser. The main thing I learned is that you will spend plenty of time in the 3-4K RPM range.
The first was between Harrisburg and Eerie, PA on 22 and 322N. Cutting through the mountains there was some construction, an S-curve, and then what had to be a 10% grade for a half mile or more. I had the old 6.0L pegged at 4K in 2nd gear to get up that hill, seemed like forever that I was waiting for something to pop lol.
The 2nd was heading west along Rt 80 in PA, there is this long steep, steady grade well over a mile long before you reach the highest point (2,250 ft in elevation) on that highway. I think I was in 3rd gear pegged at 4K the entire time to hold around 55mph or whatever it was.
But I'll say, that engine just chugged along without complaint. The truck computer said I averaged 9.0 mpg for the entire ~1,600 mile trip.
I also managed to find a CAT scale at one point. Fully loaded (with 1/3 tank of fresh water) I topped out at 17,860lbs GCVW.

Im in the market for a 2500HD at some point. I have 1 year left on my Tundra Lease. I might even try to find a used 3500, if the price is right. I get about 9 towing in my truck, and about 16 tops highway on a regular basis. What does your 2500 get normally not towing?

13.5 MPG is what the computer tells me if I leave it alone for a few thousand miles and don't tow anything. That's prob a 50/50 mix of highway and back road. I only put 9-10K per year on it.
The GM 6.0L motor is a solid engine but it's got to be one of the worst for gas mileage compared to all the other 5.4 --> 6.4L displacement engines out there.

DW (and the kids) asked for a couple more closet shelves. Turns out kids don't use coat hangers lol
As with the original, I used thin Birch plywood glued into 1"x1" pine for support (and looks) front and back. I notched the pine 1/4" deep with my tablesaw. Glue, clamp, then stain.

I just hung my shelf supports yesterday. I cut some plywood, with one side good, and will be using that. I thought about the front edge, but I decided to leave rough. I'll see how they look when they are dry and if they look bad, I'll do glue on edge
Nice work.

Just looking through mods and saw your post. I have that exact sticker in my 5th wheel and it has been on the wall since we bought the trailer, fall 2015.

The installation took a few hours, just make sure you have good drill bits!

Are you flush to the edge on the front one? I am getting ready to install, and when I eyeball it, it looks like the wont be straight on with the front jacks.

Negative, it's back maybe 1/4" from the front edge so the screws are pretty much dead center. Said differently, the bracket edge lines up where the curved edge of the steel turns flat.
If that doesn't make sense I'll snap a picture for you.

I tripped the breaker this weekend on mine with Griddle, Kuerig, Fridge, and Toaster. I had a feeling it would, but now I know. Hope you had a good weekend.

Saw this idea on the Jayco 5th wheel page on Facebook. Removed all the ceiling vents and used duct tape to close gap between ceiling and vent cut outs to improve air flow. Also popped off the vent extensions (the black ring) as those weren't needed anymore.

Where did you get the adjustable side strips? I have never seen any like that.
