New 2013 29.5RKS on Thursday

First post here. Wanting to get input/suggestions for adding a slide cover to our new 29.5RKS. This is our first 5th wheel and also first RV with a slide. Are there features or brands of these awnings to look for (or avoid)?
Some of the tips I've been given are that the awning over the slide will reduce the amount of leaves, needles, dead bugs, rain etc., thus keeping this stuff from interferring or entering the cabin; and that without the cover one should sweep this area from the roof; and that, when the wind is aligned with the RV you may get a flapping noise.
That is the sum of my knowledge on the matter.
Thanks in advance, and will surely be posting more questions/comments after taking possession and using this RV for awhile.

Another benefit that most folks don't see until after experienced it is that it's cooler!! If the sun shines on your slide on a hot day without a cover, the ceiling in the slide is substantially hotter. With the awning, there is a shaded air space that keeps the ceiling area very cool to the touch. The slide walls will be a good gauge as to the difference. I don't know enough about the different makes to reccommend one over the other

I have slide covers on both my slides and have never heard them flap. The only downside I can think of is rain water will pool on the covers.

I've been told by someone who did complain about the flapping noise and rain build up that they kept some lightweight material (foam tube or pillow) to stuff under the awning.
Maybe some brands/types are more prone to this behavior, or the quality of installation.
