New 2017 Jayco Eagle HT 27.5RKDS

Hey Folks,

Back on May 27th, I posted that we would be taking possession of a new 2017 Jayco Eagle HT 27.5RKDS. Pick it up yesterday from Camping World of Tallahassee.

Just a question. The rear stabilizer looks to be too low. Is it retracted completely??

Very observant Ruth. Yes, the rear leveling jack is quite low and is up all the way. It bothers me also and, as far as I can tell, they cannot be moved up any further.

We will have to check our FW when delivered. It may be a problem as our driveway is uphill...

I saw another 5th recently that had the same issue. It caught my eye as they were motoring out of the CG and wondered the same thing.

You look really pin high. Get that better and your rear leveling jacks will gain more clearance.

What do you have for a hitch in the bed?

Rear jacks are becoming a real problem. My 17 Pinnacle has about 6" of clearance.Working on solutions! Looks like Jayco is creating another problem for us.Maybe this is a way to sell replacement parts.

Ruth, I had the same concern as our driveway is uphill and then breaks level. I had my wife watch very, very close as I backed up. She said there was plenty of clearance. Still bothers me though

Yes, Mopar Earl, it is quite "pin high". I am going to reduce the height of the hitch (by one hole) this weekend. Even though it is quite pin high, it pulled well for the 140 miles back home.

That will be a nice system Ruth. The Jayco Eagle HT that we purchased came with the Morryde pin box. I am new to a fifth wheel and researched the Morryde pin box which yielded some great reviews. So, rather than spending the money on the Reese Revolution pin box, I opted for a Reese slider and talked with a Reese technician for guidance.

It is showing. I must have over looked. Thanks. I have a 2016 Eagle HT 29.5 BHDS, and just upgraded from a Tundra to a 2500HD, which is much higher, so I was curious on which one you had as I think I will be nose up too

thanks again. Safe Travels

spepi, I think the 2013 & 2015 are the same height. There may be slightly differences in height with tire size and whether its 2wd or 4wd.

My 2015 Silverado 2500HD is 4wd and has 20" tires, which were factory on the window sticker.

We will be pulling ours with an 09 Silverado 2500HD Ext. cab, 4X4, z71,towing and plow pkgs. We have 16 inch tires which may give us problems with level towing, but we will see..
