Like everyone else, we have a huge investment in our new rig and are now faced with spending even more. If I knew about this condition ahead of time, I probably would have stuck with a bumper pull.
Just curious, 1carguy...what 5er did you purchase?

Is it just me or does the amount of movement seems a little extreme?

If the king pins sliding on the hitch you have a seriously worn out 5th hitch. Never heard of such a thing.

Actually, I asked them about this awhile ago and the only issue they have is with the Rotaflex. All others are ok, whether the fore and aft like a Morryde RPB or vertical like Trailair.
For Rotaflex, they now sell a lockout kit which to me likely defeats the intention of the RF but I guess if you already had one? Andersen Rota Flex Lockout Kit - By Andersen Manufacturing | HitchSource.com

Hope that helps,

Bradk

Troutslayer - I just bought a new model for Jayco. It's a 2017 Jayco Eagle HT 30.5 MBOK. It has a mid bunkroom and rear living area. We really like it but this chucking problem is making me wonder if it was a good decision.

Wow! Cool layout. My previous SOB 5er was 38' long and, for some reason, it bucked like a "son-of-a-gun". Something about the length between the rear TV axle and the RV axles made it very uncomfortable. When I got the Jayco 30 footer, I figured on getting the Mor Ryde but ended up that I didn't need it cuz the axle spacing solved the problem...go figure. Sorry, for your "pain". I understand .
