I finally got word from the dealer that jayco has authorized the warranty replacement of my tablet itís now on order so who knows when Iíll actually get it. In the meantime I thought I read on one of these threads that someone used a Lenovo tablet as a replacement I found one for $59 at Walmart and confirmed it had usb micro charger so I took a chanceÖ didnít work so well for me. The tablet was quite a bit smaller so it didnít fit snugly in the frame and the charging port was in the center of the case which required twisting and bending the wires to connect it. Iím not going to try and cut/solder to make it work.
It does work as standalone so Iím planning to just leave it in the bedroom plugged in while camping and consider it as a backup should the next unit fail.

Not sure the location would matter but I used a very small flat screwdriver in the area of the on/off button and just forced it in the grove. It popped open just a bit and then started working my way around prying it open with a larger flat screwdriver.

Thanks

Great discussion here.

For those that sourced a replacement tablet, which worked well for you (fit, performance, etc.), and did you use the downloadable app (android)?
I suspect this app is different than the OE version?

I reached out to BMPRO who punted my queries to Jayco service. I'm getting very basic novice responses from Jayco on this?

Thanks in advance friends.

Yes, BMPRO has not been very helpful. I was hoping to give them an earful at the Tampa show, but they are not here

There is no difference in the software from what you download from Google Playstore versus OEM except you'll get the latest version.

You'll want to check for updates couple times a year anyway.

They need to have manual backups on the slides because if the tablet dies you can open or close the slides

I'm not familiar with the various models but my Pinnacle has a set of buttons below the tablet that operate some or all of the lights (they turn on in groups), the water pump and a set of scroll buttons to select and operate the awnings and all 3 slides. While the tablet is convenient I can't think of anything on mine that can't be controlled by some other means.

What won't work without Tablet

You are correct you can do everything on your phone or and Tablet. With the exception of accessing the system via the internet. The gateway for internet access is the BMPRO tablet. The tablet controller connects to the internet and then via bluetooth via the node. Without the wall mounted tablet there is no connection when you are out of bluetooth range.
