new hitch

i presently have a 7 year old single pivot reese hitch with slider rails. i want to buy a double action hitch. do i go with one that has just stationary anchors that attach to my bed rails or just get the double pivot head to fit on my present slider? the cost is about the same on both. i have a revolution pin box so no need for a slider. thanks, tom

IMHO, if you are sure that you will never need the slider in the future, I would go with the stationary anchors, and eliminate the slider as just one more moving part subject to wear and tear. However, if there is any chance that you might need the slider somewhere else down the line, then why not just replace the head, especially if no difference in cost.
