New member slide question

New member from Arizona. Yesterday the DW and I were looking at a 317rlok. The nicest floor plan we have seen for our needs. The salesman brought over a portable power supply to show us lights radio AC things like that. He actually brought in all the slides to show us how much room we had with slides in. But when he brought in the dining rm/ entertainment slide when it got to the end it made a sound that was not grinding but more like the track got hung up on a gear. The slide was fully extended. Did not make the sound when retracting. Salesman said it was because he went beyond the open point of the slide being completely open. Does that make any sense? Or is there a slide motor problem?
Thanks

New member slide question

Tough to know for sure without hearing it but mine makes a noise that sounds like what you’ve described at the end of the extension. I’ve always assumed it was normal as that’s what I was told during PDI.

Normal if it's a old school electric slide. Makes a ratcheting sound once fully extended. No sound when retracted.

Molar Earl thanks for the response. So I should not worry? Concerned that something might be failing. Also I do not believe 5er was completely level. As the rear stabilizers were not down.

We all did it when new but you'll get the hang of it by the 2nd time you do it. My wife still hits that switch every once in a while and no harm seems to be done and my unit is 8 years old.

Mine makes the "ratcheting" sound as it extends out and when brought in.
