New owner help emptying gray tanks

Hello there,

I'm a new RV owner, a full timer. I have been living in it for three days. I'm having problems understanding how to empty gray 2 0r 3 (see pics). Also what's the difference between gray 1 and gray 2 or 3?

Please help.

Jen

Those are just to check your levels. You actually have to go outside and pull the lever to dump the tanks

We did but somehow it's not draining. And what's the difference between the two.

Depending on model, you should have 2 pull levers for gray tanks and 1 for black.

They are open, the two of them. Can it be the sensor?

If you are positive that both gray tank valves are open then there could possibly be something on the sensor. Just to be clear, you have 1 gray valve and 1 black valve in the docking area. The 2nd gray valve will be located somewhere else.

And on mine I have two ways to drain the rear grey tank. There is a valve in the front so I can drain all three tanks from the one drain outlet. Or, I can drain the rear tank from it's own pipe at the rear of the trailer. Confused yet? Yep, I was at first too.

Yes, the sensors can be wrong. How old is your rig? If several years old then the sensors may not be working. Look around for methods to 'clean' the tanks so the sensors will work again. Our old RV's were 'old'. Sensors didn't really work at all. I'd empty the grey tank when it backed up into the shower Peek into the toilet to see how full the black was

Which model? Our 2015 FLSA has one valve in front of the tires, one next to the black valve and one all the way rear for the w/d.

Yep, valves are all in different locations depending on the layout. Check under the rig and find all the handles and where they go.

Since your panel has the ability to check the levels of 3 grey tanks you will have 3 grey tank levers outside to pull to empty plus the 1 black for the toilet. They may not all be in the same location.
