I would think since the motor will not turn except by applying power to the motor, the shaft could have been in a bind.

Still trying to determine that... Now that I am home and have all my tools in the shop, I am going to take it apart this weekend and see if I can determine the root cause.

Mine did the same thing on the same end back in July. I open the app on my phone and pushed the close button while I pushed ( bump very hard with shoulder) the slide from the outside and after the third push it started working again. After it close I resynced it and have had no more problems since.

Had slide binding issue with new 2016 321RSTS schwintek motors due to bent outboard supports on large kitchen slide. Fix was reinforced supports and twice as many rollers at Jayco service center under warranty. You may want to check for bent supports and any drop in floor when slide is out. We have 2 years of problem free use after fix. Good luck.
