Is that in addition to the $70 rebate being offered through the 20th, or is Costco just calling that "on sale"? Any Michelin dealer can give you the $70 rebate (Valid 8/22 - 9/20, according to TireRack). Usually it's a mail-in deal, and they send you a Visa gift card.

I think Costco begrudgingly got into the tire business. One of their execs claimed it was one of their biggest mistakes, but their customers love it, so they continue. At least their prices are usually fairly competitive, or they used to be.

Yes they have been replaced by the Defender. I just bought 4 of them for my Silverado 1500 TWD. Not cheap but every one says well worth the extra $80 for the set at $900 including balance and rotation for lifetime. Purchased at my local Chev dealer.

currently trying out pathfinders. I believe they are a Kuhmo product. So far so good in rain and gravel. Until now I had run cooper atp. I loved the coopers but unfortunately was not able to get a set before leaving for Disney. Tire guy recommended the pathfinder and gave me a good deal on them. we'll see

Have Michelin Defender LTX M/S LT275/65R18 Load E tires on our F150. These have really improved the feel of the truck when towing. The road noise is about the same as the Goodyear P tires that they replaced.

Can't got wrong with the Michelin LTX series. Pricey, but darn good tires. I'm a Cooper fan myself, ran their M/Ts and versions of various A/Ts over the years. Good product at a great price. Yokohama has a reputation for a good product at a very reasonable price, though maybe not as good in the ride quality/noise department as a tire that costs a little more.

If you have a good shop near you, with customer service to match.... ask them. Walk in, tell them you're not buying today, but want some input. Let them show you what they can offer. Most chains have some decent private label stuff, as well as the national brands.

There really is no one answer. Depends on the rig, the region, how you're gonna use the tire, etc.
I'm an LTX fan for many years. Can't go wrong but your specific use is key.

Hankooks that came on my 2015 F-150 squeaked 20k miles with lots of towing. Hankooks that were on my 2007 F-150 did about the same. Both tv's got Yokohama Geolanders, the 2015 now has 19k and 80% tread.

I had a 2005 Aviator that got 50k+ out of some Firestone Destinations and they still had 40% tread. I have had co-workers with Pirelli Scorpions that separated, and my step son swears by BFGoodrich for his personal and work vehicles strictly for wear (averages about 70k per set) but cost more and neither rides as well as my Geolander equipped trucks. Just my opinion...

Have BF Goodrich on and love them! 5 years and 40K miles. They look good for another 20-30K miles.
Use to run Yokohama's on our Semi's..................always a huge disappointment.

Cooper Discoverer

Cooper Discoverer LT HT Good value and millage + made in the USA!!!!!. Have been running a set on my 2008 Chevy Silverado HD 2500 Diesel since Oct 2012. Have 39k miles with more to go. Keep the tires covered on the sunny side to help with UV rays. No cracking on the side walls at all. Give Cooper a look. Smooth ride.

Go with Michelin. They actually have a truck tire that they will offer a 90,000 warranty. Just keep receipts you rotated them as scheduled. Had them on my 2009 Silverado and worked well.

I have always been a Michelin man too, but when I went to replace my the tires on my Ram 3500. I went with Toyo Open Country A/T's, E Load range. Rotate them after each oil change, (7500 miles). I have 35000+ miles on them now still look new. Just finished a 5885 mile trip from Houston to Seattle area and back in the heat of the summer time. Could not be happier with them!!!

Like Cooper!

When I was in need of tires for my 2011 Silverado dually, I shopped for a while and settled on Coopers. Why? I wanted a much more aggressive (deep) tread pattern yet quiet on the road. I got both! I was very pleasantly surprised at how quiet these tires while the tread pattern is far superior to the highway only Michelin's I had installed previously.

Cooper Discoverer A/T3 | Cooper Tire

I loved the mileage attained (80,000) on my previous tires, so I can only hope these tires live up to my expectations now that I have reduced this truck to local use an camping only. So far, so good!

p.s., I check tire pressure regularly and these don't drift a bit, a very important feature on duallys...

+1 for Michelin. I've used them on all my vehicles for several years now and I couldn't be happier. Got them from Discount tire because of nationwide support. I could get them from a couple local guys (which honestly, I would rather do), but they can't offer the warranties or nationwide support I wanted. Discount Tire has never let me down.

I installed a set of the LTX A/T 2 on my Ram before I sold it and was VERY happy with them on and off road (I used my truck off-road quite a bit). The Firestone Transforce H/Ts that came on the truck were worthless. They didn't last, and they chipped badly off-road in the rocks (they were "highway" tires afterall, I was asking a lot of them). Mine lasted only around 30K miles IIRC? I'm pretty hard on tires, so I get the best I can get...

There is probably a better than 90% chance I'll replace the tires on my Grand Cherokee and DW's Acadia with a Michelin product.

My GMC duramax came with Goodyear tires. I quickly put on 50K miles over 4 years with a lot of towing involved. I decided to change out the tires because of the mileage even though they had a lot of tread left. If I didn't tow such a heavy load over hot roads I would surely have waited many more miles to replace. I bought 3 Goodyear Wranglers with the exact description and used my spare that had never been on the ground for the fourth tire. It's been 2 more years and they look really good. I do keep the tires inflated to 80 psi rear and 70 in front all the time. I also rotate them at every oil change.
