New tires yet?

I have two years and about 15,000 miles on my Goodyear endurance tires. The tread depth is about .196. New the tread depth is .260. our big trip in June is going to be about 4,000 miles and I'm trying to decide if I should replace the tires or I've got plenty of life left in them. What are you guys thoughts? Also what do you think about the heartland tires? Discount Tire is pushing the g rated hartland tires now more than the Goodyear endurance. Thoughts from any owners of the hartland tires?

I would say you have plenty of tire left. Both age and depth.

Being you measured them, I would assume you have inspected them for cracks and so forth.

Numerous sources say a minimum trailer tread depth should be 2/32. Seems a bit thin for me. But they are not steering or traction tires. 6/32" (0.1875) is what I go by.

I would consider changing them out early next season, both from a tread and age perspective.

I am not familiar with this website, but they have the trailer tire wear info well written and is inline with all other info I have seen.

I have heard zip regarding Hartland tires. I do like that they have the 87mph limit that the Endurance tires have. What I am a bit leery is that you have a very limited number of places to get replacement tires while traveling.
What I would like to know is why your old tires are wearing so fast. I have 7000 plus miles and no signs of wear on my Endurance tires. Brakes to tight, alignment or some other cause?

I have about 14,000 miles on my Endurance tires and I only have 3/32 of tread left. Why they come with only 8/32 bothers me. Other then that, I consider them a superior tire and will purchase them again. They are wearing perfectly even so no problems with brakes, etc.

Yea Al, I remember, you and I got our rigs about the same time and have posted many times together. I like the Endurance tires. They've been great. We both have heavy rigs and I don't think that's excessive wear. I was surprised to hear Discount Tire pushing the Hartland tires. Although, they are a G rated tire which I like, can handle more of a load than Endurance. But Goodyears are made in the US and I like that fact. I started this thread mainly to try and figure out if I've got much more life left in the tires.
