Wife and I just bought a 2015 Jayco 26.5RLS, plan on towing it with a Ram 1500 with a 5.7L HEME anyone have any thoughts. It has towed our Nash
with not much trouble.

Congrats - first thing you need is the real gross vehicle weight as shipped from factory - label on side of the trailer

Also get Tung weight

2nd: from your Ram side door, the GVW limits and payload limit

Get those, then this forum will jump right in

Quick internet search say your dodge has a max load of 8900 ( 2011 ram 1500 )

Eagle 26.5RLS GVW is 7100 dry & 9950 Loaded

I'm not sure I would be towing that close to the limits

what's the tongue weight of the 5er

(following taken from web site)

Knowing and understanding GVWR is important to towing because it tells you explicitly the maximum weight of passengers and cargo you can safely carry in your truck or SUV. GVWR is the total combined weight of truck, including all passengers, fuel, fluids and cargo. GVWR is constant and does not change, regardless of what you tow. It’s engineered in when the vehicle is manufactured.

Because tongue weight must be included in the GVWR, you will need to know how much weight capacity you need to have “left over” for when you hook up your trailer.

For example, if you have a 5,000-pound truck with a 6,200 pound GVWR, you can safely carry 1,200 pounds in the vehicle. If you are towing a trailer with a 300-pound tongue weight, the amount of passengers and gear you can carry decreases to 900 pounds. Simple, right?

To be sure you choose the right tow vehicle, you must find the vehicle with a tow rating high enough to meet your needs. It’s usually a good idea to get a bit more capacity than what your currents needs are. But at the very least, be certain the towed load and tongue weight are within your vehicle’s capacity.

Generally, a 20% margin is suggested - the below link is a good calculator to enter all the data about your trailer, truck and expected cargo

That is most likely the "empty" weight. Do you know the GVW on the sticker? Add 800-1000# to that and you get a rough estimate what your new 5th will weigh after the battery, propane and you stuff is added. 23% of that is a rough estimate of the pin weight. If your truck can carry that much extra weight then you should be good to go.
The CAT Scale is your friend.

how much it can tow,( trailer weight) and how much weight your truck can take in the bed should be considered separately

Not sure what your trucks payload capacity is, that is the real tale. Should be on the sticker on the door. As another pointed out, subtract from that all passengers, fuel weight, and any add-ons to the truck (bedliner, running boards, toolboxes, etc., etc.,) the remainder is the weight of hitch AND the pin weight of the fiver you can carry.

My F-150 is just on the correct side of the equation. I gotta be careful not to load too much additional beyond what I have already into the 5th. No heavy stuff like generators, extra batteries, etc. for me!
