Newbie asking about Smaller Jayco Bunkhouse 5th Wheels

Hi, I'm Linda from Montana. I am looking for a 26-30 ft. 5th wheel. I have done my homework on RV Consumer and know that Jaycos are rated well. We really like the floor plan of the Jayco 27.5 BHS model. The double bed size bunk in the stern and the queen forward is very attractive to a couple of women. Mom and I like having our own space. I am towing with a 2004 Dodge Ram, Cummins Diesel, Quad Cab, Short Bed. Does anyone have one of these? Any words of wisdom? Any input will be appreciated. Thanks, Linda

I don't have experience with the Jayco you are interested in, but would like to welcome you to the JOF! Have you googled the Jayco 27.5 BHS to see what comes up for sale? There's always Ebay and Craigslist. Good luck

Your Ram will be more than adequate for towing. With a SB, you may need a slider hitch. I have one in my 07 Ram.

We tow the smaller eagle ht 23.5 with the Ram 1500 and use the superglide hitch. No problem
You can get the sidewinder (i think) pin box and not need a slider hitch.
Your 2500 will be no problem at all
