Talking Newbie to 5th wheels

Howdy, from Texas any 2011 31.5 FBHS owners out there, new to the site and new to 5th wheels. Just bought a 2011 Eagle super light last Sunday picking up this Sat and going straight to the lake, figured I would organize and get set up at the lake, why not ?. Pulled some bumper pulls in the past but was told once you go 5th wheel you never go back. Any thoughts, suggestions.

Thanks,
Texas T

If you have a short bed pickup, read up on slider hitches. It doesn't look like the 5er in the picture has a Revolution, so you may want to err on the safe side with a slider (if you have a short bed). The 5th pulls so much better than most bumper pulls, you will really enjoy it. Welcome!

We are also new to 5ers after many years of TTs. I find a world of difference in stability, among other things. I no longer have to worry about a passing semi that can blow you off the road. And just about everything inside stays put, unlike the TTs. The only things I really have to force myself to keep constantly in mind is that the 5er doesn't track behind the TV around corners - it tries to cut the corner. No problem if you are careful to make wide turns, however. The other thing is that mine is only 2 inches short of 13 feet to the A/C unit, so I have to watch the head.

I know you will really like your 5er, and will probably never look back. Welcome to the JOF and the 5er club in particular !

Well funny thing I have a 2000 3/4 full size ex cab Chevy that i ordered from the factory with tow package just for this day, now its only been 12 years but the ole Grey mule only has 52k (thank God for a company truck) the body might be old but the heart is strong and she is ready to go to work.
