Newbie w/ slide issue

Hello everyone!

My name is Chris. We got our first camper (Jayco Northpoint) last year, and needless to say the learning curve is enormous! Just picked it up from the winter lot to dewinterize and large Kitchen slide is not operating. sounds like only motor on the right side is operating. hoping this is due to low power/battery or a timing issue.

Anybody have any experience with this would be greatly appreciated!

Love the camper BTW!

If the battery was not on some type of maintainer could be low

If it is a schwintek slide, you must have FULL battery power (or even better hooked to shore power). Also on these type slides, hold the button down for a second or 2 after the slide is fully open or fully closed. This allows the motors to sync.

If it's a Schwintek slide make sure your unit is level before you open or close slides. It will save you a lot of heartache.

X2 on all above posts.
I'll add that if it gets out of time, both sides dont fully extend/retract at the same time, you need to fully extend and then fully retract 2-3x. Like previously posted when its fully extended or retracted hold the button until the motors stop making noise. It's designed for those motors to fully max out and then they stop on their own and make like a rewind noise which is the motors locking them down like applying a brake so to speak. I remember reading that somewhere but I cant remember where and I remember my dealer telling us the same thing too.
Only once have I ever had an issue with this system and it was with the right side bunk slide. Somehow it got severely out of time and I had to force it in, DW on the control and me outside forcing it in with everything I could. After that it's worked flawless. Having full battery power is a must and shore power is even better.

You did not indicate what year your North Point is. I would suspect that you have a Slim Rack slide. As previously noted make sure you are plugged into shore power if available. A Slim Rack slide do not have the motor synchronization feature that Schwintek does, so holding the switch for a short while when fully retracted or extended does nothing.

The yr. & model will help. If you have a schwintek it's good to know where the controllers are. Especially when one side is working and the other isn't. Just quick look at the indicators will give you a good idea of the problem. Better than banging your head for hours.

Is the right side attempting to extend? Check the wire connector and the left side to make sure it's fully connected.
