North Point 377 ring slide out cover

We are going to be picking up our North Point 377 tomorrow and debating over the slide out covers. We are fulltime in the PNW and I think that these are a recipe for disaster at $2500.

I'm worried about water pooling and snow pilling up putting hundred of pounds of weight on the slides as well as the wind tearing them up. I also don't want to climb up a ladder multiple times a day when we get a foot or more in 24 hours.

My idea was to build freestanding covers with standing metal seam panels so they are worry free. We are parked in one location so storage and assembly is a non issue.

What are your opinions?

My opinion is that I don’t have them and wish that I did. I still have to get up on the roof and sweep off the tops of the slides. But I will say that I don’t live where there is much snow.

If they are installed "properly" water doesn't pool. Had them on our 01, 08 and 15 with no issues including being in a few heavy snowfalls, 7" in Denver. The way to solve the snow is to get a plastic snow roof rake.

If you’re willing to build free-standing slide covers why not just build a cover for the whole 5th? Great protection.

^ x2!

If you’re building covers for the slides, just cover the whole trailer
