Good luck on your install Tom!!

You might want to buy some wire loom to run all your wires in.

Thanks Jack. I’ll tidy it all up with split loom when I make the permanent connections

Whoa...back up there...
A fish tape to the front compartment?
I, for the life of me, couldn’t get anything to the front compartment that way.

I don’t know if you remember my “reverse light mod”, how I had to go up into the bedroom and then back down into the propane compartment.

Yes, I know! There’s a support member that the bottom of the fiberglass overhang gets screwed onto. I removed a screw the was holding the fiberglass to the support and was lucky with the fish tape (it has a flat plastic point on the end of it) to get between the support and fiberglass. I ran an extra wire for back up lights and have it connected to the yellow wire for future back up lights. [emoji23]

Here is a picture of the new wheel studs I got. They are actually for a Polaris 4 ATV.

I didn’t want to take any chances knowing what Darin experienced what his bolts

These are a tad longer than 1-1/4”

Yeah, that’s the 1 of 2 things with drum brakes....and will change with the new rotors. The drum hides the condition of your grease seals. I had two grease seals fail on me and it really covered the inside of the rotor fins and calipers out to the inner wheel rim. And you now get direct access to the condition of the brake pads.

Tom make sure when you have finished the install and hook up your truck that you put your seat belt on tight.......so you don’t go thru the windshield when testing your brakes!!

Nice comparison between the two studs. It appears the Polaris stud has a deeper knurl that may be slightly larger than the caliper mounting bracket holes. Does it fit freely in it with it in your hand?

Caliper plate attached with new studs, lock washers, grade 8 nuts, and blue loctite. These aren’t going anywhere!

Torqued to 50 ft/lbs

First rotor installed. Need to clean it up and install caliper.

Also going to use the EZ lube to fill up with new grease (I pumped out old grease beforehand)

That's good, that way they don't rust. I always put a swipe of grease on my drums to prevent rusting.

Lol!
One thing about the bearings and seals...
When my dealer replaced my brakes last year, the service tech claimed to have installed Timken bearings and seals. I was skeptical but he offered the information without me asking about it. Turns out, they used the same cheap OEM made in china junk.
