Tom you would think those 4 nuts in the drum would help your brakes (GRAB) really well.

LOL

This is the camp side wheels. Line will run across the x-brace.
I’ve got it temporarily held in place with zip ties. I need some bigger clips to hold it on. I also wrapped the line with split loom

Is that flex line going to the other side?

Yes. That’s what came with the kit. It makes for an easier install but I may end up getting some hard line to replace later

Not that I’m an expert..but if there was more flex going the one way, then wouldn’t that little bit of rubber expansion give uneven braking?
I don’t know. But my though would be all even length flex and the less the better?

Lowe’s has the clips with rubber inside them.

Should avoid hoses but at the wheels. Hoses flex and will slow the response. Also hoses do not last forever and are prone to chaffing.

I bought SS rubberized p-clamps on Amazon for my brake project. Also SS rock guard spring.

Everything is now complete and the system has been bled. I’ll take it out for a test run this weekend.

I’ll keep an eye on those flex hoses. I wasn’t to keen on them but they will have to do for now. I can buy 6’ line at the auto parts store if I need to. Heck, I have 22’ of 1/4” line that I didn’t use. I just don’t have the flare tool.

Thanks for everyone’s input. I’ll report back after the test run.

Thank you Cannon

We aren’t getting the deluge of rain like central Texas but we have had some light to moderate rain every day for what seems like 2 weeks.

Took the trailer for a spin around the block. The brakes weren’t totally dialed in yet (need to bleed the lines again and bleed the actuator) but even as they were the brakes felt so much better than the drums.

I do have a slight (maybe 1/2 second) delay when I manually apply the brakes thru the brake controller. This should be eliminated once I bleed the system properly. Normal braking at stop signs felt smooth and easy, almost like the trailer wasn’t behind me. Granted I was only going 30-35 tops, but I could definitely tell the difference.

Once I get the system bled, I’ll take it out for some highway driving and higher speed stops.

Glad to hear you're finished with the install. My delay is about 1/3 second or maybe a half. I've not heard you can bleed the Titan actuator, but it took me 4x to get all the air out of the lines (and used 3 32oz fluid bottles!), starting from the farthest caliper, working back. Once that's done and you dial in your controller, you'll have new confidence on the road. Welcome to the disc brake club!

Thanks Darin

The Titan is “bled” by laying the unit on its back so that the line is pointed upward. Pull the breakaway pin and let run for 46-60 seconds. While it’s still running, return to the upright position. Then bleed each caliper as usual.
I’ve been told by the seller than the delay is usually due to air in the system and most likely in the Titan. If you’re interested in proving (or disproving) this theory, you could try it on yours to see if your delay is lessened.
