north point or pinnacle

Looking at the North Point 387rdfs and the pinnacle 38FLWS.

My question is do they both have the same quality build? for example frame and water lines etc.

we really like the floor plan of the North point 387rdfs but prefer the extras that the Pinnacle has. Any chance they build that floor plan in a 2019 Pinnacle?

Hi

The Pinnacle 38REFS looks very similar to the NP387RDFS

About a foot different in length though.

Pinnacle has more detailed trim work.

We looked at both the north pointe and pinnacle. And the pinnacle pros are. Wide Body. Better trim and more luxury feels more like a home than a camper. Bigger Frame more stable. Cons. higher price. heavy weight over the north pointe your in 1 ton truck range. We took both into consideration and found for more money you end up with a lot more camper. But you are looking at one ton truck if you pull long distance.

Based on the NP and Pinnacle king pin weights, you’re in 1 ton range regardless. I would say the pinnacle pushes you to DRW.

We owned a 2016 North Point and now own a 2017 Pinnacle 38flsa. While our North Point was a lemon, I doubt if that is indicative of the model in general. I would echo all the points made above about quality and livability of the Pinnacle Additionally, we love the front living layout. Finally, one of the recurring problems we had with the North Point was the large Schwintek slide continually malfunctioned. The Jayco tech said it was just too big and had too much weight on it. The Pinnacle front living model has 5 slides, but they're all small. We have had no problems with the slides. Love this trailer.

One thing to consider with the NP is storage inside and out- the NP wins hands down. To us Pinnacle had a more homey feel but we could not justify the cost difference albeit the Pinnacle did have the Mor Ryde 4000 and some other nice touches. I pulled mine 1 yr with a 1 ton SRW. We swapped that for a DRW this year. Now I understand what my DRW friends have been talking about. The 387 is long. My pin weight is about 3400 if that helps.

Just got a ram 3500 DRW Laramie, Aisin tranny and air bag rear suspension.
I have had it about 10 days so still breaking it in. Getting ready to show our grandkids the USA! Oh yeah it's a crew cab long bed.

We have similar tow vehicles I also have a 4.10 and 4wheel drive.
Leaning towards the pinnacle, but still looking with an open mind.
