Northpoint A/C duct work

I know, it’s been written about extensively. I had a rattle when the bedroom A/C was running, so I took off the ChillGrill and found the freeze sensor wire moving around. I tied that up nicely, inspected the divider and all was good.

For kicks, I removed the 2 bedroom A/C outlets. On one of them, the holes for the ceiling and duct were not aligned and the black ring was pushing the duct upward creating a huge gap and restriction. I removed the ring and used foil tape to tape the duct to the ceiling on both vents. The change in volume was very noticeable.

Having such success on the bedroom, I moved on to the rest of the coach. I found another 2 outlets with the same issue, the black ring pushing the duct up. I taped all the ducts, removed the rings and the volume of air seems WAY greater.

Whether or not you are happy with the performance of your A/C checking to see if its installed properly is a must! Mine seemed to be keeping things nice and cool even in 90 degree weather (no direct sun though) but I expect that it will be more efficient now.

I plan on doing the same on our next trip out, just to see if ours has that alignment/seal problem.... as a lot of people have written... probably will be the case.
thanks for the post!

I’ve done the same to mine with excellent results.
This simple job/mod is a must for any RV.

Go ahead and get a roll of silver Duct tape because once you open it up to look, it's just as easy to fix it while you are there.
