Northpoint floor registers

When the Northpoint bunkhouse slide is closed and the furnace is on, the floor register blows hot air under the slide floor. Does anyone see a problem with this? I intend to replace the register with one that closes, but in the meantime during the cold weather, I keep the furnace on.

I don't understand why you keep the slide closed and the furnace on?? Can you please explain? I replaced mine with the closing louvers, but I apologize, I don't understand why the slide is close and the furnace is running?

The slide is closed cuz it is parked next to the house for the winter. The furnace is on cuz it is freezing outside.

Ahh, come on...it's much colder up her in the DFW area!

But, that makes much more sense now! It shouldn't be too much of a problem, as long as you don't have the furnace set to a high temperature. When you can, get the closing louvers.

I have it set to 55. 10x2-1/4" registers are like hens teeth. May have to order online. Thanks

Should never use closed vents, you could send the furn into over temp do to reduced air flow.

Even just closing one vent Grumpy? You've been doing this much longer than I, but I haven't had a problem yet with closing off one vent.

Personally only used the furn on rare occassions so never messed with the vents. Just passing along what has always been preached. One probably won't hurt.

I'm an elec heat guy, even used a 200 watt personal desk heater in the utility bay. Mounted it with metal "L" brackets.
