NP 381 Design Flaw
So I'm into my 2nd year with my rig. Also on my 2nd front door retainer clip. Seams the wind catches the door more on my new 5r. At least theirs more of a gap between the door and the wall. 1st clip snapped at the door and the 2nd clip snapped the wall stem piece. Under warranty my dealer replaced the first one I decided to replace the 2nd one. With two broken in two years I'm thinking maybe a metal on. During inspection I found the door clip has metal rivets now. I'm still wondering why the dealer decided to replace the screws with rivets? Wow. So I take a closer look and see the door stop is a 4" stopper. Removed it and found the door opens all the way. Great! Now the wind won't catch the door and break the clip. But wait, the kitchen cargo door won't open because the front door is positioned to close and keeps it from opening. So I re-installed the 4" bump stop. Maybe it's time to install a metal door clip?
For all the Jayco tech reader's, take a round turn on the next 381 generation.
