NP 382FLRB Entrance Door Issue

Hey Jayco Clan, loving the 382FLRB but just noticed that over the last year of ownership that the entrance door is starting to get "pushed" at the top into the door frame and the door is hitting/rubbing against the door frame when we shut it. The door has a piston/lift shock on the outside to keep the door from hitting the kitchen slide and I think that the piston is applying undue pressure to the top hinge (orange circle in my pic) and warping/pushing it to the left (as indicated by the red arrow on my pic).

Anyone else experiencing that issue? Any suggestions on how to stop this from happening?

Thanks for your feedback.

Thanks. I guess I am the lucky lone receipient of this issue. Guess I will take the pin out of the door hinges and adjust them with the door off and see if that helps the situation.

Our new 2024 came in with door problems and the dealer had to replace the door. Could see out the top from inside.

Ours has the same issue. It was "fixed" once by the shop but has reoccured. I think that the real fix is a backing plate and the use of through bolts.

I wonder if your gas strut has been replaced ever. I say this as I replaced mine a few years back and determined that the struts come in different strengths for different purposes, some as high as 120lbs and as low as 10lbs (I am not sure but I suspect this is the lifting capacity when\if used for lifting purposes). In any case, I purchased a 20" 10lbs gas charged strut as a 10lb strut is all that is needed and would cause less stress on the frame, door, hinges, and even the screws that hold the strut. ~CA

A block of wood and a hammer might be able to adjust that top hinge. Worked on may last travel trailer when the door started rubbing.
