Officially a Jayco owner - Eagle HT 29.5 BHDS

After almost 3 months of waiting, we took delivery of our 29.5 BHDS yesterday. PDI was uneventful, just a couple items to fix, which I'll end up doing myself after the dealer gets the parts (front cap decal is crooked and the USB ports under the kitchen counter are DOA).

Ended up going with the dealer recommended Reese 16K Pro Series paired with the Revolution pin box. The trailer sits just a bit nose high, but after loading it up I think it will end up just about perfectly level. All hitch adjustments btw, didn't have to move the axles down to the lower shackle holes after all, and I still have about 6" of clearance to the bed rails.

This is my first 5th wheel and I gotta say, what a big difference pulling this compared to a TT! Backing up wasn't as tricky as I feared either.

Nice unit I just picked up the same unit last week,we get to try our unit out next week for 3 weeks we bought the add a room going to give us lots of room we also have a few things the dealer needs to look at our stereo is mounted crooked and large outside window by door is not straight plus the molding around the large slide out is broke and one screen window by the slide out is not fitting right so flys will get in, love the unit really excited to use it, I use a Reese 16k slider hitch, with my Chevy truck short box congrats she's a sweet unit!

Thanks everyone! Memorial Day weekend for our first trip can't come quickly enough.

Although that does give me a couple weeks to get some mods started. DW already has me building 5 drawers lol

Nice looking 5er! I do understand the backing up thing! Had to maneuver my father-in-law's a few times for him, and what a difference! I'm sure you'll be a pro soon.

I was under the impression that these awnings would auto roll up in wind? How does that work with the room zipped on to it?

It appears that your Awning is a Dometic 9100 power awning? If so, I was looking for an "add a room" for ours and was told both by the dealer and Dometic that there were none available.

So I suspect it is an aftermarket? Mind sharing the Manufacturer/Model of yours? I am sure the DW would be interested to say the least.

Add a room

Carefree is the make of our add a room, our Jayco dealer in Manitoba Canada supplies a few add a rooms, not only great for keeping bugs out but gives you another huge living area all screened in, when I get my camp all set up I'll post some better picture of the inside of it, as for awning mine is power awning inside control or by remote control I never heard of auto matic with wind, that scares me it would be closing all the time where I go

Started my first mods by adding a few drawers. I also made a couple more to install under our bed, plus a 'junk drawer' in the kitchen.
