Ohhh what a day !!!

Well today was the day we were picking up our fifth wheel after waiting two months ( bought in February) Two hours before pick up i get a call from my salesman with a very sad tone on the phone. " uhhh. Someone just struck your FW". Someone else was bringing in his old trailer for an exchange and turned to close to mine and scratched (2x2feet) my front cap and dented his rear trailer. Well you can only imagine how happy i was on the phone. Anyways, dealer at first wanted to replace the cap (on the guys insurance). But i said i was not satisfy with that, so they called all over our region for a similar one but could not find one. So they had already placed an order with Jayco for a 2014 (production starting in April, I was told) so they offered to do an exchanged my 2013 eagle ht 27.5 for a 2014. Although, I have to wait again I think that was better then buying the accidental one? I got to say that the dealer and salesman were really good to deal with after i explained that i don't want a brand new FW already damaged !!!!! Only problem, Jayco has no photos yet of the 2014? Did I do the right thing ?
Exhausted
Will

Well that sucks!! I would gladly wait for the 2014 with the understanding that it meets your approval.

Ya hard to say when you can't see them.. But they said everything was the same except outside color. They said the sides are all gel coat? Can't wait to see when Jayco updates their site.

When we ordered our Jayco I put our previous trailer up for sale, thinking it would take awhile to sell it and we could still use it while waiting for the new one. Well it sold in one day! I dusted off the old tents and we still went camping!

Ohhh what a day !!!

I can't even imagine. I would be so pissed. We ordered ours in February of last year and took delivery around this time. I think I would have blown a gasket if that had happened to ours, I was so excited for the new trailer. Hopefully they get your replacement in soon. I would make them throw in a few extras, and not just a free poop hose.

You should tell them you need a free rental as you had some weekends pre-booked!

Salesman actually offered a free trailer for the weekends. But we don't feel like packing and unpacking a trailer for weekend trips. The dealer has been extremely good so far.. We haven't got any papers yet for the exchange but were suppose to get them next week, hopefully....trying to stay positive about all of this... Kind of lost it on the phone when they told me. So my wife, the cool headed one . Came with me to the dealership and we spent 3 hours looking at options. The dealership was not happy when it happened either..the heard the crash and everyone went outside !! Old trailers were not supposed to be dropped off at that location so now owner wants to install barricades to avoid this from happening again....
