No, I meant the ground lug may be where you have the bare wire in that junction box to tie the green to.

Yes that's what I would do for the green wire from genny - there's also a grounding lug on the bottom corner of the genny - should I connect that to frame for 12vDC ground connection for starting? There's a heavy wire coming in with remote wires/plug - this must be connection for the battery.

Be sure the 4k has the same bolt pattern as the 5500. Also the 5500 draws the engine air and cooling air from the bottom. Also exhausts the cooling air out the bottom. The last 4k I saw it pulled air in from the front. If so you will need a vented compartment door.

If I remember correctly that wire went straight to the battery not the frame.

This is a heavy black battery cable coming through with the wires and plug for the remote/monitor - I think it is + for battery to start genny.
I received a drawing from Jayco on the Onan 4000 install - 2 hots from transfer switch ( Progressive Dynamics Model PD52 ) tie into black from genny, green to bare copper in junction box and neutral to neutral. Still don't know if they have holes for mounting 4000 - have asked Jayco this question. Looks like to 4000 is good inside cabinet as long as you have 2" of clearance in the front.

Found out from Cummins Onan that the bolt pattern for mounting the 4000 is totally different from the 5500 - also as mentioned in another post the air intake/cooling setup in cabinet will not work for the 4000.
So I guess i have to sell the "NEW" RVQG4000W EVAP and find a 5500.
Thanks to all for the input - this forum is very helpful.

.
While looking around inside the transfer switch check the tightness of the lugs. They do tend to loosen up over time.

But please make sure you are unplugged from shore power when you do.
