Oh o.k. With the super short bed trucks, this problem is taken of by a SuperGlide Hitch.

A pretty expensive and heavy hitch but it is the only way to go. I have one of those.

For more info, look at the video in the link below;

Congrats! I really like the look of the new windows. That thing is beautiful! I love my 2014, but I am jealous of a few of your upgrades! The new lighting in the living room with the skylight is a very nice touch. The new backsplash is a nice touich too.

I do have a question for you though. How heavy are you? Mine was 8,727 lbs before loading anything in the camper. I'm just wondering what your sticker says on the side of the camper. I hear those double pane windows add a fair amount of weight. My camper will be going by the scales when I head out this Thursday so I can see exactly where I am now that it is loaded.

Enjoy the new camper!

Okie,
Thanks for the prompt PM response.

So yeah, mine came delivered at 8,805lbs. Initially, I had guesstimated to be at around 9,200lbs just because of the thermal pane windows. However, it appears that frameless feature does help quite a bit with reducing the overall weight. By the way, the new windows are SUPER AWESOME! Pictures don't do justice. You gotta see them in person. All my neighbors are intrigued. Lol

Nice looking rig! How old are the kids using the bunks? One reason I have been going back and forth between this model and the HT 29.5 is the bunk bed size (29.5 having the double queens). We have a 3 and 6 year old, but they would bring friends camping a lot of times, so not sure on the sleeping arrangements on the smaller bunks? Surely an adult couldnt fit on the bunks, or could they? Good call on the hitch also...if I go with a Jayco (ie not a sidewinder pinbox), the Superglide is the only sliding hitch I would consider

One more thing...I was/am a bit concerned with getting the rig to sit level (2014 Ram 3500 CTD)...does yours have 16 inch wheels? (I see some others having some issues getting it level with the 15 inch wheels on the HT line). The more I look at your pics, the more I like this one a lot Thanks for sharing!

gtsum2,
The bunk beds on our Touring edition work perfectly well. They are slightly bigger than a twin bed. My boys are 7 & 8 years old. In fact, I tried once and there is plenty of room for an adult.

Regarding the rig sitting level, I have the standard 16 inch wheels. No spacers on the SuperGlide hitch at all. Nonetheless, the whole set up works perfectly well.

Thanks for the info. I believe this will be the one for us...originally we were looking at much larger (38ft) units, but this Eagle Touring will fit the bill nicely I think. Thanks again for sharing the pics and your thoughts and impressions on it. Have fun out there with it!
