Outside Temperature Sensor

We have a 2021 Jayco Pinnacle 32RLTS. There is a temperature sensor on the outside wall between the entry door and basement storage door. My question: what is the function of this sensor? Please see attached picture.

just to give you a false reading of the outside temp most of the time...if the sun is hitting it...it is way off. I don't think it does anything besides that.

I have the same thing so I looked at the BMPro tablet and there is a selection on the sensors screen for temperature. It will show the sensor location, and there are several including exterior, with a pair button. I did that on almost all of the options and it says not found. I then read the info by pushing the ? which says to press and hold the on button on the temperature sensor after pairing until it turns green. No button on the outside sensor and pretty sure I've not seen any anywhere on this thing. Maybe I didn't pay enough to get the sensors. Doesn't really matter I guess since I've gotten along fine without them for almost 2 years now.

I think you are confusing the remote Bluetooth temp sensor, like the one they put in the frig on the new models with the one being discussed, which is hardwired.

It senses the outdoor temperature which is displayed on the BMPro screen.
And, as Learjet notes, not particularly accurate when the sun hits it. Otherwise, the temperature is close enough for jazz.

I claim ignorance on this. I have the outside sensor but when I check the climate control screen on the BMPro the outside temp is not there. In the scheme of things not very important so more of a curiosity on my part on why I don't have it. Besides, we have this with an outside probe hanging on our pin box.

I think it only displays on the "home" screen top left.

I saw the hvac stuff on the picture and thought it was that screen. I checked my home screen and sure enough it is there. I'm slow but I eventually get it.

Thank you to all who replied. The temperature is bold and bright on the Home Screen in the RV and on the phone app. Missed it the hundred times I’ve looked at the screens!
