Oven operation

The DW is asking why her oven is so noisy if it is propane. I wasn't a cook in the Navy so...

The oven is straight forward set it and forget it. How ever is does hum quite loudly during it's operating. Temp increases, holds, and cooks well. But that hum....

I just have always thought it was an internal fan to blow the hot air up and out the vents behind the stove. That fan and the display would be controlled by electricity.

Some ears are more sensitive to certain frequencies than other ears. I can hear our pilot light and oven when it's on. It's not jet engine loud but I can tell it's on.

Bad range regulator? It's under the burner cover.

In my NP I have the kitchen range and oven combo. It is propane but according to the manual the propane oven requires 12v power to operate. That tells me for sure there is a fan in there that is the humming noise.

Have you noticed that when you turn the oven off it continues to hum for awhile? At least mine does while it is cooling off.

Our 16 Eagle does not have a fan in the gas oven.Is it the convection ovens that have I hear noisy fans?

Sorry I just found this thread when I was looking to our oven troubles. If your stove sounds like a jet engine when lit, the oven might need to be adjusted with a water colum. It is a gauge/tool of some kind. To test for that take it to a HVAC person or to your dealer. Have had to have them adjust a natural gas appliance in our home. Propane is not much different.

Off to look and see if I can find my oven temp troubles.
