If it's like most, your gel coat is so thin no amount of polish will fix it.

Its not the front cap… it’s the side that faces the west sun…front cap is fine…

The driver side of my Pinnacle has some slight oxidation. The passenger side is flawless. Doesn't make sense because we are full time and have been in at least 75 different RV parks over the last 3 years and have never been parked in the same orientation so no one side is getting more sun than the other. What is odd is that most owners have the oxidation on the driver side. Why would that be? I've had the best luck with Meguiar’s A1216 Cleaner Wax. It's the best I've used and I've tried a lot of different products. It has just the amount of abrasiveness to cut through the oxidation without dulling the surface. Very easy to apply and remove for under $10.

When your done trying to fix it, just spray some SC1 on it and it will hide the oxidation. Kinda gives it the wet look. Works great on my front cap, and most of the bugs just rinse off.
It’s used on off road vehicles to allow the mud to wash off easier.

I’m expecting to need to reapply every 6 months or so, mine has only been on for 4 months, so I’m not sure on the longevity. Very happy with the results.

Is this what you are referring to? If so, I'm going to give it a try.

Yes, that’s it. 3/4 of a can gave me plenty to do the entire front cap.

GHen, I bought some SC1 and it really makes even faded decals "pop"! However, does it ever dry or does it stay sticky?

Generally oxidation is not on the "gel coat" it is on the finish under that and polishing the gel coat is not going to help the oxidation. You can polish the gel and get a shine but as that wears off the oxidation becomes visible again. It never went away.

There are some temporary fixes but the bottom line with this problem is a total removal and either replacement of what was there, which is difficult to impossible or a car type paint job which is expensive.

I'm not to happy with SC1! The next day after applying it (very lightly), I had hundreds of tiny black bugs that stuck to it. Looks like crap and was still tacky to the touch.

Meguiars #67 compounding wax with buffer. Use the foam pads instead of 3M wool to save $$. Bit of practice and the finish will come back beautifully. Follow up with a good carnuba paste wax and you’re good to go. Have done this several times in Florida in direct sunlight and shade. Not fun but great excuse to listen to classic tunes and enjoy several cold adult beverages.. Just traded in my 2018 28.5 RSTS HT and dealer could not believe it was not ever garaged or covered..
