Penna. to Florida route

Hello I am leaving just after Xmas going from Williamsport Pa. to Stuart Florida and wanted to get opinions on best possible routes I will be towing 42' Jayco 5th wheel. Was thinking 80 to 81S to 64 to 95S, don't want to go near DC.

I usually catch 81S to 77S to 26E to 95S. not familiar with 64. You do have a decent hill at the gap after 81 though. I might look into your route if it's any flatter.

I've been running that route for quite a few years. Its pretty much smooth road in my opinion. Last time I ran 95 north of 26 I thought I was going to jar something loose. Only real hills is after you get on 77S from 81 coming from the north. That's the run away hill but it doesn't last all day if you know what I mean. Once you hit NC its gets good from there. I haven't towed my 42' 5th yet (no truck yet), But was driving a 40' class A with a tow behind many times. No real fuel issue but when it gets low I'm the type who fills up when things look good. Just make sure to do it before Fancy Gap.

We traveled the 81 to 77 to 26 to 95 route from central NY state to Fl. last month and had no problems at all. Lots of fuel places and as far as coming down the mountain on 77- take your time and keep your speed controlled and you shouldn't have any problems. Let the idiots that are in a big hurry go on by.
